They lose another heartbreaker while the Hawkeyes stay undefeated and win by 7 touchdowns. Funny how the teams seemed to be going in opposite directions after the bowl game. At least this will keep them out of here.

Rilly?....no....rilly?

I'm pretty sure the Tennessee program isn't exactly modeling their program to emulate what IOWA is doing.

Huh? It's funny how 2 people can read something so differently. I didn't see anything about emulating......

It was a program on the rise crushing a program that was already crumbling. Amazing what a few games can do.

Tenn is still good, just cannot finish games yet ... really blew both OU and F games.

Give UT Iowa's schedule and there is little doubt they would be 4-0 as well (although I do believe Iowa would beat florida).

Uhhh, I have major doubts UT wins in Ames & against Pitt @ home. I'd give them 3-1 but would bet 2-2.

2 late game meltdowns against teams that are better than Pitt (Oklahoma) and Iowa State (florida) make you think they couldn't beat ISU @ Ames or Pitt @ Home? People on here are acting like that win against Pitt was vs the steelers. That's a 7-5 (at best, more likely 6-6) ACC team that was without their 1,700 yard rusher.

I understand being excited about a 4-0 start after the way last season ended and the propensity to piss at least 1 nonconference game a year down your leg, but ISU will finish with max 3 wins and Pitt will play in some craptastic bowl against the 3rd place MAC team or 2nd place SunBelt team.

Agree with what you're saying that Oklahoma and Florida being superior opponents than what Iowa has faced. I think we will have to wait and see on Pitt, I think they will finish better than 7-5. Next week should tell us more, they play at Virginia tech.

We're really making the rounds aren't we?

4-0 is pretty nice, although when you start to ask who and where the picture is quite a bit less rosy. Now we want to talk s*** about Tennessee?

Like I say, we're running with this 4-0 start like we stole it. Why not wait a week? Then we'll have played a team roughly equivalent to Oklahoma, and on the road and they'll have had to tangle with a Bielema-coached Arkansas team that they should beat.

I will stick up for the OP's call out of UT in the sense that there were a couple of UT posters that came in to talk down to us after they beat us down. They were smug about their impending NT title run this season based on that bowl game instead of understanding we had hit absolute rock bottom as a program despite having a 7-5 winning record going in. We were in full meltdown mode and the fanbase was checked out. Some of us tried to tell them to enjoy the bowl win but not take too much stock in it. Well it turns out they have some work to do yet. This has nothing to do with us being 4-0 against a softer schedule.

If there is anyone that truly thinks that Tennessee wouldn't steamroll ISU, they need to be wearing a helmet 24/7.

Beating a deflated Iowa in a marginal bowl game is far different than running the season gauntlet. Tennessee and Arkansas - end of season darlings last January - are finding that out.

Expectations are sometimes pesky critters.

Tennessee would be 4-0 with Iowa's schedule.

This thread is ridiculous. I admit *SOME* Tennessee fans ran their mouth a bit, but for the most part they were (and are) a respectable bunch. By the way, we have our "fans" too.
