How did Iowa Western become what it is?

It is not just football. The men and women have 7 NJCAA National Championships between them. Football (2012), baseball (2010, 2012, 2014), and soccer (2013). The women's National Championships were in volleyball (2006) and soccer (2013). Plus, the cheer-leading squad won the 2016 World University Championships.[
Iowa needs to hire their AD ;)

They have positioned themselves as the place to be for D1 athletes, that due to academics/circumstances etc. couldn't get in to the D1 program of their choice right out of high school. Therefore, they go to Ia Western awaiting their opportunity to transfer.

My question would be off be field issues with a bunch of kids that knelt are shaky academically.

If they can win like that and big very good citizens that is indeed impressive.

Back in the day, Ellsworth was king for JUCO football. They beat Iowa States JV so bad they stopped playing them. Ellsworth also had all kinds of issues off the field, much of which was kept off official police business.

Indian Hills basketball is crazy good. It has a reputation as a place big schools can stash players to see if they get their act together.

How would iowa do against Bama? Take your time...
The fact that MSU got rolled by Bama, does not prove that Iowa would have. Yes both MSU and Iowa looked like they had lost their "juice" in the bowl games like that BIG championship took a great deal out of them. That doesn't prove we wouldn't have matched up better with Bama then we did with Stanford. I know one thing, I'd have loved the chance to be in that game as BIG champs to find out. You on the other hand, seem to prefer to just run out the "WE SUCK" mantra as usual. Good for you, what ever floats your boat.......

Oh contraire. I’d rather play them or schools like them in most years so we know who the hell we are and give fans great trips and games. I’d rather go find the boogeyman and fight him on my terms than hide from him like kirk does

Misguided as usual. I know that Iowa has tried to schedule home and homes with power 5 teams and gets no takers. Do you really think that Bama wants to come to Kinnick and play Iowa in a night game in Sept? Think again. Go back and look at their non con schedule. They'd rather play Ark State or the like, and not leave the comfy confines of Alabama, then risk traveling to the hawks nest. You rarely see teams like Bama do home and homes with anyone in the non con, but keep trying to peddle you tripe. You certainly have yourself convinced, if no one else........

Ok brainwashed. Didn’t say bama specifically, but a consistent top 15-20 team. 25, whatever. You know the barta, kirk and media spin. Quit falling for that crap and think for yourself. There are heavyweight battles every week so quit with the excuses. If willing to play, there are plenty of suitors

So none of these schools will play Iowa but they will play other B1G teams?:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

2017
Indiana - plays Virginia

Maryland - plays Texas

Michigan - Fla & Cincinatti

Michigan State - Notre Dame

Minnesota - Oregon State

Nebraska - Oregon

Ohio State - Oklahoma

Rutgers - Washington

Penn State - Pitt (I think we played them and beat them IIRC, which defeats the notion we have ISU as our only P5 choice)

Think what you will your going to anyway. It has to be pitiful to claim to be a fan, (sure you are), and be so consistently down on your supposed team. Pfffffffffffffff, right iowa12........

So you know for a fact that we haven't tried to schedule any of these teams? I do know we've played Pitt, at least three times, Arizona, home and home, Arizona State, U Conn I believe, and had a home and home scheduled with Mizzou that they backed out of. We've discussed the ISU situation at length, and yes their still a power 5 team, and one good enough to beat two top five ranked teams last year. How many of these other school are playing more then one power 5 school in the non conference schedule? And just for the sake of argument, how many bonus points should you get most years for playing Virginia, Cinn, or Oregon State? I wouldn't put any of those schools on a level above ISU, at least not consistently.

I played 2 years at Ellsworth.. & yes there are more then a few stories kept away from the p.d.

Lost in OT last year. Comparing the landslide in resources kirk has, that is an embarrassment

Kirk beats an in state, 8 win, bowl champion, rising superstar coach on the road and should be embarrassed, keep going with that premise. Pretty legit..... to you.
