Click on their name under their avatar, you should see an option to ignore on the ensuing pop-up.

Don’t have anyone on ignore yet. Certain people’s rants get read right over. I just classify the ignore button in the same realm as safe space. I get it and they are not the same thing and you are not soft if you use it. Just not something I have needed, yet.
