How much do you use AI?

i asked google a basic tax filing question and the ai summary confidently gave me an answer that was wrong. the correct answer was easily found in a irs instructions doc link located in search results beneath.

Mostly for JD Vance memes.

I think it’s a good tool, but for more complicated work it needs to be checked thoroughly and then you’re just saving time on initial writing.

What are some of the things people are using it for in their personal lives?

I've used it to create trip itineraries. It's great for suggesting ideas for things to do and restaurants. Keep telling it what you like and don't like and you can create a great weekend trip plan.

I've used it for helping with meal prep and planning. Tell it what I have, or what I'd like to have and it will create detailed plans, with recipes and nutrition info. Keep telling it yes or no and you can dial in a nice meal plan for the week.

Also used it for book recommendations to find books similar to other ones I like. For some tax questions. Technical questions. Home repair project guidance, and more.
This is interesting. Especially the meal planning. How do you use it? Just go to the website?

LLMs are very good at generating plausible and grammatically correct responses.

Yep, just go to ChatGPT, create an account or sign in with google, and that’s it. Just ask it questions, and then follow up with more questions or guidance until you get what you’re looking for. It’s free up until a certain amount of usage per/day. If you hit the limit, just finish the following day.

Almost never. I know an AI generated response is usually at the top of my Google search results but I’ve found it to be unreliable at times so I certainly don’t look upon it as a primary information source.

You know what else is unreliable and should be double checked? Regular google search results.
