I worked at a place that slowly went belly up over 15 years so I know what that feels like.

I am a professional "boiled peanuts" inspector down in the deep south. My job is very safe.

Sept 1st will be my 10 year anniversary with my current company. I started there when I was 23 years old. I'll probably be there for at least another 10, probably longer. Nothing is ever guaranteed though. Especially when the company is a medium sized business that's continuing to grow. Mergers and acquisitions can either continue you on a path of success or walk your ass out the door with all your personal stuff.

I feel generally secure in my job. Although, that could change if I made a huge error in judgement (which would be easy to do in my job.... a single unfortunate word could end it all tomorrow).
