I don't wanna listen to everyone bitch about the tournament and recruiting and a coaching change forever so let's do something fun. Vall got me thinking with his "Tarp to 125" comment.

What is the all-star HR team? What weight can all of us make? Who do you think we could throw out there as the best of the best for us posters? I'll start with myself. I could make 157. I have a DSJ build. I probably would not make the team. Everyone is welcome to compete! :D

Not sure about anyone else, but I believe that CaseyB.* and I might be in the running for the Hwt. spot on the fantasy team.

It would be a sad team with ol' Vall at Hwt. I haven't wrestled, even semi competitively, since 6th grade. When I was kid, we did whatever sports we could, whenever asked. My best friend in elementary school (who would later AA @ Cornell University) was crazy about wrestling and we would go to work out in the Iowa Wrestling Room as part of the HAWK Kids Club or something of the sort. If my fading memory serves, the wrestling room which was located in the top right hand corner of the Fieldhouse, which right by the weight room.

There was some deal where really good elementary kids (and their large, semi coordinated, best friends) could go drill in the room in the summer and gets tips from Gable and the wrestlers. I recall Gable and Barry Davis (then a college wrestler) having a quick discussion about my skill level and Gable suggesting that I skip the arm bar technique drill for an extra session on bridging as "he might win a match if he can keep his shoulders off the mat".

Later at home when my dad asked me about wrestling, I replied, "Coach Gable thinks I can win a match someday."

* Casey once mentioned in a Tshirt thread (about the ones you wear not Jason) that he was a 3XL.

In college, I held my own with the best of them. But I am not ashamed to say those days have passed me by. I can still make 174 if I have to.

We need CaseyB in the crowd to heckle the opposing coach, and subsequently have him write that opposing coach an apology letter.....

Not any good but could make 125 very easy but 40 years smoking has my wind down lol would need inhaler breaks.

We've got plenty of ref's on here that could do a good job ..................

if they could keep from laughing so hard at you fat ol fart's trying to get into a singlet and not tripping when you walked onto the mat............:p

Sounds like a hole at 149. I could try. I am still 21 but nowhere near the shape I was in high school. Weighed 170 in high school. Didn't cut a lot. Wrestled 160. Lost muscle in college. Walk around at 160 now.

I started wrestling at 7 years old and competed until I was in 9th grade. I made 3 PA Junior Olympic state tournaments but never won it all. My best shot was at 10 years old but got sick that weekend and didn't compete. The boy I beat at regionals won the State championship bAnother year the boy that won it all one class down from me was my fastest pin that year.and I beat him handily several other times. I bumped up a class so I could avoid having to beat my twin brother to get to states.

During these years I was also a basketball player. The seasons didn't coincide so I was able to participate in both more or less, although there were several times I wrestled a match and played in a basketball game on the same day. In 9th grade I had a growth spurt and would finally top out at around 6'4. I was probably a better basketball prospect than a wrestler. In highschool the wrestling and basketball seasons coincide and I had to choose between the two. I chose basketball after some convincing from coaches and my parents. I've never lost love for the sport and to this day wrestling is still my favorite sport I also played quarterback on the football but even that didn't compare to the rush wrestling gave me.... One on one... Mano e Mano. It was my drug for a very long time.

I miss those days... Pencil me in at 197 please. Lol

Oh man, you're pushing the limits of my weight-cutting skill UndercoverHawk - but I suppose I'm willing to sacrifice my pizza-eating habits if it means the team will be stronger!

Brinzer posted on here a couple of times. Nothing against gg or lax, but as always I'm going with the higher-ranked recruit.

Somebody send Randy Lewis, Ramos, McD, Dennis, Metcalf, Jaybo and a few others email and get them to make a few post here so they can qualify. Then our posters will take on Togs and his pencil pushing buddies down in tornado alley. Then we'll have em take on NitwitLion and his pussycat feline friends in some sandbox somewhere............:)

Don't forget Ironside...........

I can man the 141 spot but am not sure my parents want to read all the criticism. And please do not refer to me as a room guy (I prefer practice partner:)) or refer to me as the gaping hole in the lineup:eek:.

I could easily make 133 but I was only a .500 wrestler in high school. Sounds like I"d be a "room guy"

I am on my way down to the low 180s from 210 which is the heaviest I've ever been. I am at 197 right now. Nutri$y$tem is a pretty good diet. I'd still stay with LAX because he's younger, more wrestling skill, and I'd puke after the first minute of hard goes. So yea, Goia and I can be the distractions while muddage can do the actual coaching. I'll even hand out oranges and/or participation trophies (they do that now) in the form of a 12oz bottle of Blue Moon.

If Wahlberg's cut gets too much, I'll try and make 165. I'm on the cut from 189 (Jan), to 178 now (wife wanted to join a weight loss challenge). Wrestled 140 senior year of high school, qualified for state my junior year, lost at districts my senior year, went to I Can Count College (ICCC), but never wrestled, wasn't sure which sport I wanted to do (4 sport athlete in HS), been coaching wrestling ever since, prolly best suited for coaching but with my age of 33 I suppose I'll get wrecked by some in shape studs. Been a long time since I was under 170, but I need it. With Wahlburgs college experience he would beat me. I'll be his practice partner.
