Is Moderate Drinking okay?

If that is correct, and my math is too, you'd have to drink 105,120 drinks to take one year off your life. That's 288 per day for one year, 28.8 per day for a decade, or about 3 per day for a century. Seems suspect, though I'm sure it's not a linear relationship. Drinks one and two in a day probably have a much different impact than drinks 11 and 12. Also, as mentioned, genetics and other lifestyle factors have to come into play.

My M-I-L is 94 years old. Never drank at all. Doesn’t know what day it is or where she is at. I don’t want to live to be 90. I’m 64 now and have 2 cocktails while making supper.

I’m always surprised when I hear someone say they don’t want to live to be “x” years old. So long as I am able to take care of myself and enjoy life I’m happy to be alive. My dad got cancer when he was 86 and died at 87, almost 88. He was pissed because he was still golfing and hanging out with friends.
