Have to imagine he's headed somewhere east, closer to home, to team that can make a run...Virginia, Duke, Kentucky.
Not surprising the way Howard would forget he was on the floor for long periods of time. I am sure he has his sights set on a team that can make a NCAA run next year.

It would make sense for a pure basketball-fit. The question is does Iowa's NIL even come close to what he's going to be offered from other schools? He does seem to get along great with JBo, Connor and Garza though, so there's a chance.
The smoke and rumors I've been seeing on socials is Georgetown. Would make sense since he's a DC kid, and they clearly are trying to revive the program from the grave so I'm guessing they have some big pocketbooks that are wanting to make a splash.

I predicted Hunter to Iowa over a month ago. It may have been just me blowing smoke because Howard didn't deserve him but it would pretty much improve Iowa to a tournament team and i could claim psychic powers to go along with my obvious attractiveness to women.
I mean that's the entire point right--GTown has sucked and hung onto Ewing too long. They made their play and bought a coach who has had success--now it's time for them to buy players and get the program revitalized. I don't think people fully grasp how desperate Georgetown is to be relevant again. They are going to buy some players this off-season.
Also, both UNC and Maryland are bringing back their starting big men. Reese at Maryland I could maybe see it working--but Bacot and Dickinson together does not make a whole lot of sense.
If he wants to set some screens for guards who are playing hero ball, there are many choices available to him (including the Michigan program he just left). But if he wants the ball in the post, Iowa is a good choice for him because we do that on offense.

Another potential quality that is attractive about Fran's system to him, and any other transfer .... defense is optional.
Sell him on being coached by Jan Jensen? Seriously though, sometimes wonder why both teams don’t pool some of their resources and help each other out. That’s what the Iowa track team does. Certain field event coaches coach both the men and women. Obviously Jensen wouldn’t be on the sidelines at the men’s games if this happened but maybe working with her on angles, footwork etc in the preseason could be helpful for some of the men’s team.
It'll never happen. I went to high school in the same area as Dickinson, bunch of East Coast elitists out there who think Iowa is Hickville USA.

Totally agree, moving to the East Coast from Iowa in 9th grade totally sucked. Just saying, I know the type and don't think Dickinson will touch iowa.
Garza is also from a private school in DC--I think you're stereotyping DC in same way you don't want them to stereotype Iowa.

Howard is an awful coach, and Hunter has seen how Fran allows his bigs to flourish. There will be enormous interest, but Iowa should have a strong case for him, if he thinks the rest of the team is good enough to be successful as a team.
Agree that Iowa (Fran's system) would be a great fit for him and his talent, but also agree that he is probably looking to transfer back East...in particular the mention of G'town above strikes me as a strong possibility for him.
As dominate as Garza was averaging what 23 + a game, Iowa still couldn't get out of their own way. I don't what Iowa to go back to relying on one player. Basketball is a team game and for Iowa to be successful they need multiple players that drive the team.
Sorry but there just isn't enough star power returning for Dickinson to even remotely choose Iowa and even if he did, there's no guarantee that he would lead Iowa to a sweet 16 berth when he couldn't do it Michigan with the stud players they had surrounding Hunter.

Garza felt loyalty to Iowa for being the first major program to offer him. There's no such similar relationship for Dickinson... Garza's options out of high school were also somewhat limited. Whereas Dickinson is arguably the biggest name in the history of the portal.
I'm assuming I'm the only one on here who grew up in both Maryland and Iowa. I know the type, and there's literally no way a White kid from DeMatha is coming to Iowa. Just stating the facts based on my own unique experiences. Just don't want any Iowa fans getting too excited and talking themselves into this.
@dean_oliver222 always has terrible takes so him saying no way Iowa lands Dickinson bodes well for the Hawks.
