Would a win Friday wipe out the bad loss last night? Truth be told it could be worse, one bad loss so far and AT LEAST it was on the road.

The problem is that Nebraska was probably the worst team we are going to play going forward. We aren't going to win all of our games at home so how do we get enough wins if we can't beat the worst team in the league? A win Friday will help right the ship but I'm not feeling a win against the #12 team in the country on Friday.

Same.....Last night was a killer.

The only hypothetical part is that Iowa still has a chance at the bubble. With no 3 pt shooters left in the toolbox, teams are going to pack the lane like Nebby did every game, and they will be a lot better teams than Nebraska is. Poor Luka is going to get beat up every game and may not survive the season. Very bad loss.

I am on board with this sentiment.....that said, the Ryan Ks, Bakari Es, Cordell Ps, will now be getting serious game planning, study, and prep time that they might not have been getting when they were the 9th option....could make a difference in how they play.

Winning on the road will be tough for all Big10 teams this year. I feel confident that Iowa won't shoot 12% from 3 again this year. The Hawks lost a game they shouldn't; now they need to win a game where they're the underdogs.

I agree with you 100%. We also need to protect our home floor. I just hope we have enough remaining horses to do it.

Very true. I know what Ryan Kriener can do, I'm not sure about the other two. One thing is sure, we need them all.

It's a big "if," but then if a terrible, YMCA-level team could use its home court to beat a much better Iowa team, why would it be impossible for Iowa to beat Maryland, or anyone else who drops by Carver?

BTW: Ask Ohio State, among many others, what rankings mean so far this season. Is Maryland really the #14 team, especially in Iowa City? I guess we'll see.

I really felt Iowa would be 3-1 in conference play. I also did not expect to be without CJ. PSU game excusable. There is no excuse for Nebraska. They are terrible.

Well we couldn't have shot any worse. That won't be happening again.

Do you think we wont have any games where we shoot BETTER than normal? Lets just hope one of them comes vs mi or md instead of the NW game.

No 3pt shooters? LMFAO! Yeah ok, lol again!
That JW kid had one off game so now he can't shoot for shit huh?

They can go ahead and do what braska did. I bet we wont be shooting 12% from three next time. If you really think that will happen then, you're probably better off not watching.

I'll say that either JT or CMAC need to shoot better(at least in certain games) or we're NIT at best. Time will tell....

Screw logic though, lets just pretend jw rk and lg will combine for like 6% from 3pt all year long just like last night :)

If opponents leave Iowa as wide open as Nebraska did Iowa will win most of those games.

That wasn't a strategy as much as it was a hail mary from a team with zero other options to stop Garza.

Giving a team 30 + open 3 pt looks will win you very few games. If anyone should know that its Iowa fans.

I agree, but its still the blue print because NO ONE can stop Luka on the low block with one defender. NO ONE. So you look for the guy to drop off of, if that's Pemsl or BE, neither of whom will even look for a shot. I did almost have a stroke last night though when CP threw up that 3 pointer. Absolutely amazing....:oops::eek::oops:

Especially Bakari. He had 15 pts against Cincy and only 3 pts since that game. :(

We all have to understand that making the NCAA's at this point is going to have to be some laser focus and over achieving by our remaining players. We can still do it, but we can't lose another game like last night. I love these guys and I love watching them but CJ is going to be missed desperately. He is the only reason that losing JBo wasn't the final blow. If Fran can get us to the NCAA's, then he has earned every nickle of his salary and more. Good luck Hawkeyes, we are with you.

It was a bad loss to a terrible team. But, look at how many losses that supposed good teams have had this year.
It's an uphill battle for Iowa to get on the right side of the bubble, but far from impossible. Even if they lose to the terps.

Purdue and Minnesota are going to be verrrryy interesting teams come selection Sunday. Both top 50 in the NET, both slightly above .500 right now. If they end up like 17-14 or 16-15, do they get in? It would be interesting.

I suspect the Terps won't employ the same packed in defense that debbie had to do to win. They most likely think their big men are competent enough to hold Luka down on their own with maybe just a little help. Probably sag off Connor or Bakari if necessary.

You would have been correct had CJ not been hurt. Iowa wins both those games comfortably if CJ was healthy. Very unfortunate.
