I’m torn on whether I want to see Drake win

On the one hand, I’d like to see them lose to hopefully get him on board ASAP.

But I love an underdog and would like to see our potential next coach be successful in the tourney. But a successful run opens him up to be more desirable to other open jobs.

Hopefully we’ve got him locked up and it doesn’t matter either way.

I want them to win, a few days won’t make or break the deal, if there is indeed one, nor substantially slow his ramp up if he does come aboard.

Was thinking about starting a similar thread.

I want Drake to win at least their first game tomorrow night to solidify the hire a bit more for the people who are 'iffy' about him - should it happen - but I'm also impatient and want to get him signed and sealed ASAP, so it wouldn't devastate me if Drake lost a heart-breaker tomorrow night. We'll find out sooner if he will be the new Iowa coach or not, as well, if the Bulldogs season ends in about 23 hours.


Despite whatever the outcome is tomorrow, Ben McCollum still sits atop my list of favored candidates to be the new Hawkeye head coach.
