I am more nervous than:

More nervous than the anti-Perris Ellison.

But seriously, I really am nervous about this one.

If CJ were healthy, I think the Hawks win. Since he isn't, expect to see 8-9 men in the box from Indiana to shut down our running attack, and a fairly easy Indiana win.

Indiana has given up 55 and 52 points their last two games. Their best defensive output this year is 22 points to Florida International.

Iowa could trot out their scout team QB and hang 40 on these guys.

Indiana ranks 119th in FBS in team defense and 66th in rush defense. I think they could put all 11 in the box and it might not matter.

After Saturday's so-so performance by the offensive line, I hope that BF is challenging the heck out of them. It might be a bad week to be the second string OL as they will be getting the wrath of the starters performance.

Iowa defense played better against Maryland, than Penn State or Ohio State did.
I feel that the kinks in the OL will be worked out, this Saturday.
We need to use the screen to our advantage, using that OL advantage, downfield.

Our running game should dominate, and I'm worried that we won't get pressure on Sudfeld.

If we really wanted to exploit Maryland we would have. They played dumb, sell-out defense and we didn't really care to run screens and other plays to exploit it at the risk of getting CJ clobbered. We did what we had to do. We got a big early lead and KF protected him in the 2nd half because the game was over.

The OL was not nearly as bad as you would like to think. It'll be a different story this week and Iowa will move the ball at will.

Iowa 45 Indiana 24

Good analysis, I just worry about this game every freaking year, same as NW and look how we curb stomped them. You may be onto something.

You're talking about the same Indiana team that gave up 55 points to Rutgers, right?

A long tailed dog in a room full of rocking chairs about this upcoming Indiana game.

bahahahhahahhaha, good one.

If coaching staff can work out a plan using CJ as pocket-style passer, incorporating lots of screens for example, to deal with 8-9 guys in the box, we'll be ok.

You had better believe our opponents are looking at what Maryland did in the second half by stacking so many defenders in the box, and I'm sure they're incorporating this into their defensive scheme against us.

Indiana won't put 8-9 guys in the box often. If they do, CJ will burn them deep or Wadley will break through the line eventually and it's a touchdown.

Exactly. If Indiana tries to stack the box CJ will put up Playstation style numbers.

I'm more nervous than I was against UNT, but not much.

I got a chuckle out of some of the above responses, but I seriously don't have much anxiety about this game.

Ol' Doodle's more nervous than a generally highly anxious person who is suddenly placed into an extremely stressful situation from which there is no obvious or even moderately apparent means of escape and is thus forced to quickly develop a set of necessary coping skills lest he/she prospectively experience hyperventilation, rapid heartbeat, loss of muscle control and ultimately complete apoplexy.

The quote is "a long tailed cat" as said by Tennessee
Ernie Ford.
You are correct. At least, that's when I first heard it. Always liked Ol' Ernie. Used to watch his TV show. He sang "Bird Dog" with Don & Phil once, really cool.

Another quote from Ernie, after either the '57 or '59 Rose Bowl: "Boy, those Iowans shore shucked'em!"

And Maryland ranks below them in rushing defense, and we only put 110 on the ground against them....at home.

Maryland ranks lower in total rushing yards given up, but Indiana is almost a yards per carry worse. If we can get 4.6 yards per carry we'll be doing just fine. Add to that Maryland is considerably better in pass defense.
