Fran clearly doesn't focus much on D. The frosh played it well v. Creighton but that's because they were coached well in HS.

Have to agree that the D and rebounding needs major help. That doesn't seem to be a high priority of Frans.
I am somewhat encouraged with what I've seen in the freshman so far. They aren't afraid to make the effort on the glass. To hope that veterans are going to suddenly find the ambition to use the length some were blessed with and hit the glass on a consistent basis probably isn't going to happen. I wish they had the attitude Perkins has developed the past couple years. He aint' SKEERED to mix it up.

Time for someone to find another team to follow. Following this team can't be good for your health, mentally or physically. You need to find a team that always wins the big one. That way you will be a happier person and so will many of us who will no longer come upon your screeds. If you have family, they will also be much happier as they too will not be required to tip toe around an unhappy person.
I know I am not typical of Hawkeye BB fan but I want an entertaining team that consistently finishes in top half of the league and makes the Dance.

Consecutive 1st round exits... This is a problem. I'm not as doom and gloom as OP but history has shown talented teams that play any semblance of defense usually go farther than the first 2 rounds of the tournament. Fran continually ignores prioritizing teaching playing hard defense. A huge reason why he has never advanced past the 2nd round.
We truly wasted a year of having 2 1st round picks and a national player of the year. We got ran out of the gym by an average team because we didn't play D. Hurts to think about...
You would think the law of averages would have dictated ONE Sweet 16 by now.
Someone last year kept a running list of teams that have made the Sweet 16 since Iowa's last appearance. I think it was over a hundred (or close to it). That's inexcusable!
But.....we are Hawkeye fans....we just accept it because "remember what happened when they ran Tom Davis out of town."

You say the same thing every year and Fran does better than you predict. Now NCAA tourney wins don't seem to be possible, that's a problem that needs to be fixed, but your dire season predictions are almost always wrong. And just so we're all on the same page, what is your answer to our problems? Firing Fran, you are going to fund our NIL program, dissolve the basketball program at Iowa, what is it?

Scoring points in bunches is fun to watch but when them off days come and there is no defense, you lose. Can’t win championships without a defense.

I don’t know that I would call Iowa basketball a garbage program, but it does seem like Iowa is always the whitest team on the floor. I don’t know how much it matters these days, but back in the day the whitest team on the floor was almost always going to lose the game. I’m not trying to be stereotypical, but at the same time there’s a reason some stereotypes exist.
Maybe Fran needs to stop recruiting Iowa high school players so hard and venture out to the big cities?
