I don't care if Pepsi

@Hawkman98 I'd like your take on the last video
There's a lot of truth in that segment. When I arrest someone for domestic their guns are either taken on the spot or the judge will issue an order for them to turn them over to LE. The issue is state legislatures have really handcuffed local Sheriff's from having much say on who can have guns. The stand your ground bill and the bill that you don't need a permit to carry in Iowa can be reckless and tends to put a lot of people at risk.

Where I work we take domestics and protective orders very seriously. If we come in contact with a couple knowingly violating a protection order we arrest both of them. The gun issue is complicated and can be improved but I just don't see it happening. Unfortunately, it's a political issue, and the political candidates are too big of pussies to deal with the issue because they are afraid of offending voters. There is a compromise out there that would slow the gun violence issues, but you have to be willing to make drastic changes that some may feel infringe on their rights.

Things are only going to get worse, so we can act on it now to slow gun violence or we do what we are doing now which is nothing, and then argue on social media or message boards.

Agree with most of what you say except for candidates that are too cowardly to deal with the issues. That is apt for republican candidates, not all candidates.

It's both sides, but you are right I'm sure there is some that are willing to fight the battle that needs to be fought.

It truly is going need all sides of the spectrum. Law enforcement, attorneys, victims families, parents of kids in school, adults that care about their grandchildren.

Something has to change.

There are plenty of moderates and liberals who would love to pursue this and few, if any, conservatives. It's another one of the issues where the majority doesn't matter.

I am all for sportsmen. I don't hunt. But I'm fine with those that do. Nobody needs a handgun or assault rifle for hunting purposes.

The lives saved by having a handgun in residential properties is outnumbered by the amount of lives killed in non self protection.

Most civilized countries have this figured out. Australia.....where the Brits sent their criminals, did a gun buyback program and look at how few massive shootings they have had since.

Why are we selling guns of war and flak jackets to general public.

You need to register to vote, but NRA doesn't believe you should register to own a gun?

In regards to the parents letting their teenager have access to firearms, prosecute every one of them.

Again, I will never fire a weapon again. I had and M-249 in Iraq. Could fire 200 rounds in a minute. Weapons are for hunting or killing. If you are not doing the latter, you don't need one.

And don't give me 2nd amendment garbage. That was about a well regulated militia.
