Turns out John Oliver called for everyone to refer to Donald Trump as Donald "Drumpf" because several generations ago the family changed its name from "Drumpf" to "Trump." He says he wants to know if they could have been just as successful with that last name.

So there you go. Personally, I think it's pretty lame on Oliver's part. Almost everybody on this board either has a different spelling to their last name or an entirely different last name from your family at the time they arrived in the US... Even if only because our family members were illiterate and couldn't really tell the people at Ellis Island how to spell their name...
