so that I/we can bask in the glow of the ISU sweep for a length of time.

I don't hate ISU. I don't love them. I love beating them and hate losing to them.

I absolutely love beating them and not having to play a game for some time so that the victory really sinks in. It's like rolling around in a big pile of money.

I agree! It will also allow for Joks shoulder to get truly healthy and for the young players to take a breath and assess what they need to do better going forward. Good week to be a Hawkeye for sure.

Finals week.

Only good thing I can think of is the healing time for Jok's shoulder. Otherwise, Iowa usually does poorly coming off the break, especially vs. UNI in Des Moines, where the Hawkeyes don't always play well. Anybody know which arena it'll be played in?.

The uglier the game is, the better for UNI. I fear both teams will be rusty. Lets hope the Hawks can get it going in Des Moines.

Honestly, I don't know why college basketball players would be "rusty." People of all ages walk in off the street in Y's and rec centers across America and play some pretty competitive basketball every day. Many of those people play once a week, a few times a month, and never were stars. If Iowa doesn't play well tomorrow, the layoff should be no excuse whatsoever.

Rusty? No. I am worried about 3 freshmen starters playing flat (no energy) after their first college finals. But these guys seem pretty focused so maybe they'll stay on task.
