I love this team!

Fran is doing an excellent job. He’s calmer with the players this year and that’s helping. He’s yelling less and coaching more. Great job tonight. Hope we kill Michigan at home.
II have noticed this also with Fran.
Demeanor has really changed in the last few yrs

CJ is the real deal....His unselfishness is what I see as his best trait. He passes the ball when guys are wide open and can get their shot. Weezy dribbles too much and doesnt get it out of his hand. CJ seems to know where everyone is on the floor at all times and gets it out of his hands quick that lead to great offense flow.

Great summary Hawk-Fran 1. CJ is just a terrific passer. Definitely something Joe W has to continue to work on. Wheezy doesn’t have a lot of things to work on but passing is probably one of them.

Pemsl is starting to round into shape and is becoming a strong role player....scoring is still the primary concern.

I'm not concerned about Pemsl's lack of scoring... With this lineup we need Pemsl's defense, post feeds, floor experience and attitude,.. we've got plenty of scorers...

I’m not worried about his scoring either. I worry about his lazy passes that always seem to get deflected or stolen. I’m still not comfortable when he’s in the lineup but he was ok for the most part last night. I’m much more comfortable with Connor or Kriener playing the 4 over him though.

Garza is my favorite hawkeye player since ...Armstrong ... ?

An honest to God warrior. Those are rare.
Agree ... The kid just "brings it" every single night. He never takes a night off ... I love his grit ... I love how he celebrates with his team ... how he supports his team mates ... how he takes ownership ... All of it. He's a quality player and quality human being. His parents did a heck of a job with him.

I still love me some Whitey the best. He was so integral in getting this program back from the dead and he got better every year. He could change games with timely steals, breakaways and dunks. He was also a guy you could trust at the line by the time he was a senior too.

I am saying Frederick is the most COMPLETE (as in all-around) Guard since Devin Marble (and I don't mean Freshman Devin but what he became as a Junior/Senior).

Man I really want to disagree with this, but I think you're right here. Frederick hasn't had to handle the ball much but we've seen some flashes and he looks comfortable doing that. He's a terrific defender for a freshman, obviously he's an outstanding shooter. I think he could handle a larger offensive role right now but this team doesn't need him too with Garza and Joe.

Whoa, he’s not there yet. Devyn as a senior was first team All Big, a better scorer and rebounder. Also got more steals.

I wonder if Fran lit up some a$$ during halftime because they did a better job on the boards in the second half!

This years team appears to be mentally tougher than teams in the past. The biggest difference is that they have 4/5 guys who have more than just 1 basketball skill set. It used to be a team full of guys with only 1 offensive skill set.

Comparing the passing of CJ and JW - CJ is up top making passes to the corner or post. JW is usually in the corner which only allows a pass to the post or back out to the top. Different positions.

Connor is really turning into one of my favorites...Tough gritty role player.

And it sounds like he is the guy on the court that pushes his teammates to play good defense. That, and the guys buying in, are the difference in this team. Lot of names for it. I call this team intense.

Joe W seems to have difficulty in feeding the post. Sometimes he appears hesitant to pull the trigger on the pass and the defender recovers. Passes tend to be lobs to Luka, rarely a bounce pass.

Love Weezy, but he’s got areas of his game to work on. Imagine that a soph with things to work on. He’ll probably on only be on one of the all big teams.
