TCU needs to die a slow death............and give us our rematch in which we win and go on to play in the NIT Finals.
But I don't want their coach anywhere near the NCAA tournament.....I'd prefer winning a rematch in next years Big Dance
You mean they could be the 69th best team in the NCAA?!!!!
Yeah, that's all we heard from our Clone friends when we got a birth in the NIT. Now that one of their own has a chance of winning the whole thing, it's an accomplishment.
Perhaps one more ultimate champion that we lose to in a post-season national tourney. Villanova in the NCAAs last year, and TCU this year. The NIT before this was when we lost to Baylor in the finals of the NIT too. Many other times we lost to the ultimate champion over the years (Louisville in 1980, Duke in 1991, Duke in 1992, UConn in 1999 ...)
I agree with you that TCU is good, young, and will thus likely be better next year as they lose none of their double digit scorers, including a freshman starter ISU recruited that didn't play in the NIT game against IA due to a broken wrist. As you point out the double standard above, the other is when some fans say the Big 12 is not a good conference, then gush on the team that finished tied for 7th.
Haluska I think. DeanO before that.Who was the last Iowa player in the 3 PT competition?
Nevermind. Recker was in it year after DeanO.Haluska I think. DeanO before that.
Wow I'm struggling tonight. Haluska, Horner, Recker, Oliver are all of the Hawkeye alumni. Google is better than memory.Nevermind. Recker was in it year after DeanO.
Wow.
They certainly underachieved most of the season
They finished tied for 7th with a 6-12 conference record and were the 8th seed in the conference tournament. The finished only ahead of Oklahoma and Texas. I only mention it because it never gets old mentioning those two teams as the Big 12 cellar dwellers. Something almost everyone can enjoy.Debatable. They were the 7th place team in a tough conference. Probably should have been in the NCAAs, but not with their record or conference sta7thnding.
Edit: glad to see the ACC go down!
