"No. 3 Ohio State: Had little trouble swatting away Iowa 35-7. Still, it had to feel like a loss for the Buckeyes, who are the first ranked team to allow points to Iowa's offense since Michigan surrendered two touchdowns in a win over the Hawkeyes in Week 5 of 2022."

-------------I want to see Lester succeed, but that is unlikely with The Capt (make no mistake) calling the shots.
We need a new HC and a new 21st Century offensive scheme.

(they're still laughing at us)

:(

Would have scored more than 7 if Sullivan plays that Game, Ohio State was playing 11 against 10 in the run game and unless Iowa ran motion against the play call direction the entire backside was a desert , Go watch the game film back , Lester couldnt even call a reverse because the penetration they were getting would have blown those up, Once Iowa showed RPO the defense had to defend the backside and things opened up for Iowa.

Yep. I said this back during the bye week on here. If Iowa tries using McNamara like they did at Penn State, it will be ugly. And it was.

Iowa needs to move on from McN. Anyone that thinks he is a guy who is going to go out and win games with his play is a fool.

Which makes Kirk a stubborn asshole.

Not everyone is "laughing at us."

Doug Lesmerises was a columnist at cleveland.com. He now has his own college football show that he hosts on YouTube.

As everyone can see, he said that whoever wrote that crap got it all wrong.

Doug has been a bigger advocate for Iowa than our own beat reporters. He was the only one with the guts to really question KF after the embarrassment BF put on the field in 2022 at the Shoe. And here he sees the obvious SEC bias and the twisting of narrative in trying to downplay OSU’s win.

The Big Ten would be wise to give Doug a bigger platform and let him be the smarter, more respectable version of what Finebaum is for the SEC.

"Iowa would absolutely boatrace Vandy..."

---------Ol' Doug lost any credibily with that comment.

Yeah, “boatrace” is a bit too strong. But remember, this is a Vandy team that lost to Georgia…STATE.

Iowa would be favored, and rightfully so.

If Minnesota had beaten USC the week before Iowa played them, how would you have felt about our chances against the Gophs?

It's embarrassing to be viewed by national media/pundits/fans in this light... unfortunately there are many on here who are fine with that as long as we win (or lose "close") because we're just Iowa and that's our way. Also, it's not relevant whether you actually enjoy the wins. If we score a safety and 3 FGs, and still win by four points, just embrace it. Fielding a high octane offense is for chumps who want to lose consistently 35-38.

Besides, once Kirk is gone we are going back to the 70's so he must stay as long as possible.

Click bait Doug lol ... he pampers Hawk football for one reason. CLICKS.

He's a straight shooter, that's for sure.

ESPN the sports source, lol, that had Reese's Pieces ahead in the WNBA ROTY race for over half the season.

Nah I missed that one and everything else that comes from them other than the million youtube'ers that make fun of them.

As mentioned in post #13, the CONCEPT of The Capt's Offense boatracing ANYONE ON EARTH very nearly caused my head to explode.
Just something one can't wrap one's head around, incomprehensible.
One of the Signs Of The Apocalypse.

KF purposely does not boat race other teams. It's one of his greatest faults. He needs to step on other team's neck when he can and he doesn't. I think he saw his Maine teams get pummeled and decided he would not do it if the opportunity presented itself. Loser mentality, IMHO.

Cade has not played 1 full solid game against a Defense with a pulse since pre injury Michigan, Injuries and the lack of arm strength have made Him not a viable P5 starter . Kirk had to make promises to Cade that He would be QB1 unless He was unable to play for Him to still be starting. This is not a new thing, Kirk sabotages His own Team time after time before He will admit He cannot evaluate QB1, Lester needs to have FULL control of the offense including the depth chart if Iowa is really serious about winning.

Of course they're laughing at Iowa. So am I . . . So is anyone who knows anything about offense. Just watch all the games every week. Compare what you see everywhere else to what you see at Iowa. Every team in the country has a better QB than Cade, bar none, and every team in the country has better WRs, bar none. So anyone who doesn't find that hilarious has no sense of humor.

I read one on ESPN blasting our QB play. I thought you do know OSU is the #1 defense in the country right?? We might want to slow our horses on judging this team and our OC who really only had fall practice to get ready for the season. Plus they played an away game in one of the hardest stadiums in all of college football to for a visitor to get a win. Not to mention one of the best wr's in the room, not saying the best but one of the best, was trying to feel up his gal at his HS prom this time last year. Anyone asking for a faster or better progress with the basically worst ranked offense for 2 years straight, must not have a clue at all. Watch what happens when suddenly the Hawks start clicking more and more and we just flat out blast everyone on the rest of our schedule.

I am not going to listen to some OSU fan talk about Iowa football. Furthermore, Lester is calling the plays on offense guys and in the threads I have read, I notice no one is placing any blame on him at all for Saturday or much less on Phil. It was a total TEAM loss. Sure Kirk is the captain of the ship but blaming him for every ill play etc is getting really old. He really wants to win and hates to lose despite what you guys say on this site over and over and over again.

It is impossible to judge Lester until it has become clear that he actually has autonomy running the offense.
That is not clear yet.

Oh stop with that bleeding heart back to the 70s bullsh!t!
Iowa will be just fine when KF rides into the pasture. We have enough going on here to be an attractive destination for coaches .

half of Lester's playbook in in Kirks vault because He cannot run the RPOs and designed QB runs, roll outs ect ect with Cade as QB1 , the defenses know Cade cannot run or beat them deep with His arm. , the field is shrunk for a defense with Cade as QB1

Iowa’s offense remains a running joke in college football and Captain Punt has shown he really doesn’t care.

Lester is only here because the AD pushed him to fire his crappy son.

If LF really wanted to win he would know that he needs to recruit that side of the ball a hell of a lot better and get a mobile QB.

My barber in Charleston, SC learned I was an Iowa fan. He knew nothing about our recent w/l record, "10 wins!" or any other aspects of the Iowa program.
He asked if we still had the worst offense in CFB.

Well you have a point, obviously K has veto power, I dont know that he is arguing with TL on every O play or overriding him constantly during the game.

I got it from inside that when AH came to coach TE's that he had all these ideas. When he walked in he was handed a pamphlet and told "this is what our TE's do, make it work".

If anyone thinks TL got a green light on the O... smh

TL needs 3-6yrs to get the offense ramped up, and that includes 3yrs of KF being retired.

Even if that were true, we are TEU. Not to mention Lester has done nothing but praise the way our TE's are and perform. So what you are really saying is if there really was any guidelines for the TE coach to follow.......... it has worked very well. So your attempted insult is really a compliment. Even though we all know your accusations are not true.

Iowa football is dull because it is the same old same old. I do like the way Iowa players try hard, have great tackling skills, but I would like to see a change as Kirk is tiresome.
