I don't know wrestling strength has ever been about who can lift the most weight. I think it's probably a combination of (wait for it) Strength & Conditioning. If you paid attention last year and compared it to this year you probably noticed we didn't have to many moments this year when our guys looked absolutly exhausted coming off the mat. Last year it was awful Moore and Evans always looked tired. Even Clark, Sorenson, and Brooks at times. I'm sure this had nothing to do with lack of bike sprints or stairs run in Carver.I like your post for the most part honest assessment. Super human was a point made missed by most. When you make a generalized reference about our wrestlers being stronger it is always more profound if you have some kind of documentation, results etc to help authenticate the statement. An unloaded gun isn't as effective as a loaded gun.
Example our wrestlers can bench press 15 lbs more this year than they could last year. I would then say good example, your right our wrestlers are stronger than they were last year. I have no idea if they can or can't. When someone says our wrestlers are stronger looking this year and our results in the end game are less than last year? What are we comparing the added strength to?
.
To your point about Tomasello being able to lift 450 lbs. Tomasello came out of high school a four foot 120 lber. He needed to get big in order to not be an undersized 125 lber. (And they've done a great job) Gilman on the other hand didn't have the to grow into 125, so I'm sure his focus of training isn't being able to dead lift 450 lbs.
