I thought a felt a skank-like disturbance in The Force last night!

I have been told Boone had the reserves in most of the game against East.

DSM East is a bit of tricky one. No families have the money for off season teams. They have families that are in poverty. I am guessing many students have to work after school to make sure the lights stay on.

It makes me sad. They just don't have a chance.

It's not impossible though. In recent times Des Moines East had some really good teams including a state title.

why is that?

they seem to have a diverse enrollment and decent facilities, my boys used to be part of their youth BB feeder program until we moved them over to North.
I am guessing that there isn't a lot of kids playing travel there. North has been rolling in girls basketball for a decade now, and kids have gravitated there. Also, when Central DID have talent they had some REALLY bad coaching.

make sense, at our kids middle school there are few travel BB players....tons of soccer and baseball/softball though.

Central is really really bad too. They had a woman who coached college the last couple of years and I think she saw that there was no way to win there. Gary Mayfield is coaching them now.
My daughter(no pics) is a cheerleader at Central, so I've had to sit through quite a few of their games the last couple years.
Coaching seemed to be as much a part of the problem as anything to me watching the girls play.
For the last two years, any team with a pulse traps full court against them and not once did they actually set up any plays to break the press.
Two years ago they had a girl playing Center who could actually dribble, so she was often able to break a press by herself, but that doesn't really count as a play.
Also, they all play defense with their hands instead of their feet and I never once heard that coach offer a correction.

Girls High school basketball is wild. I saw last week (I think?) CR Washington beat Des Moines East 114 to 9.
There was a game here in Indiana that ended 100-0 about a month ago. Sounds like it could have been a lot worse.

Basically, one of the top teams in the state (South Bend Washington, IIRC) who no one wants to schedule ended up scheduling a fledgling school out of Gary. SBW usually produces a couple of Div. 1 talents every year.

HS sports are supposed to be about having fun. Nobody is having fun in a 100-0 game. I'd feel bad if I was on the winning team. Douchebag coaches have egos and are happy to run it up.

The adults at both schools failed the minute they allowed that game on the schedule.

Reading between the lines, she picked "sides" in the Angel Reese v. Caitlin Clark kerfuffle and landed on squad Bayou Barbie.
Is this you speculating or have you heard bits and pieces from other sources? Because letting something like that influence what school you go to sounds really stupid and if that is her mindset, good riddance.

Emanating from the north side of town!

My buddy who knows my disdain for her texted me this morning and said i should have gone to the game last night and called her a **** to her face. I said, I like i think she heard me from home /csb

God I hate that her. Ever since we played Baylor. She's the absolute worst

I just assume the girl committed to LSU was her reason to come up so she could try and flip the girl going to iowa

No idea if she already signed or whatever but assume the worst with that c-bag

Which surprised me because the last coach had been a college coach. Jett, the previous coach, had no clue. North Scott would play their 1-2-2 against her and she would run a 1-2-2 zone offense against it. Unbelievably bad.

She’s not recruiting Journey.

Journey Houston signed with Iowa last month, although I’m not sure if that even means anything in today’s college sports landscape. They don’t even call it a Letter of Intent anymore. Now it’s just called a scholarship agreement and I’m not sure it’s even binding.
