Somebody just restructured their contract to do pretty much that exact thing. KF doesn't need the money, so no reason at all why he wouldn't do something like that if he wants to keep coaching and adding to his legendary win total. Is this legal?

No coach in their right mind would spend several million dollars for a couple college transfers. Too risky. One ACL tear/cracked rib from a wasted “investment”; an injury and a bust from a complete disaster. I mean, there are some dumb coaches out there but they’re not brain dead.Is this legal?
Was thinking more like what Gundy did. Take a pay cut with the cut going to a pot for the players. No coach in their right mind would spend several million dollars for a couple college transfers. I wish it wasnt a joke!!I was being a smart ass. I read somewhere at one one point KF's net worth was between 50-60 mil--I was joking that Clarinda's was 30-40 mil lol
Which is not the same as going to the SWARM, this is institutional money that will go to the new revenue sharing program which will be equal throughout all the programs. Not a needle mover, just a different pot for the Cowboys to fund their revenue sharing from.Gundy, Oklahoma State agree to restructured deal
Oklahoma State and Mike Gundy have reached an agreement on a restructured contract, and he will remain as the Cowboys' coach.www.espn.com
As part of the restructuring of Gundy's contract, his $7.75 million annual salary will be reduced to be redistributed as part of revenue sharing with players
I guess my point is, do you think a coach would take less out defer some money into players money, if it would help get winsWhich is not the same as going to the SWARM, this is institutional money that will go to the new revenue sharing program which will be equal throughout all the programs. So is you saying any coach is going to do that. I just never understand why Iowa fans expect Iowa's HC to do stuff that literally no other coach would do and they wouldn't either if it was them. I know its really easy to sit on the sideline and say I' do this or I'd call this play AFTER the plays been run. Just like the people who bitch about his salary, like they're paying it, and he's paid pretty much middle of the pack compared to his peers. Just silly arguments....False equivalency, but you know that
Would they? Certainly, can they? No.I guess my point is, do you think a coach would take less out defer some money into players money, if it would help get wins
I’m not bitching, i was spitballing. If I was making 5million, I would throw in a million to get a couple stud tackles to help my offense look better, win more.So is you saying any coach is going to do that. But you wouldn’t be able to, unless you were going to blatantly break the rules. Surprised thatI’m not bitching, i was spitballing. If I was making 5million, I would throw in a million to get a couple stud tackles to help my offense look better, win more.
I don’t believe that the university can TOUCH the NIL $$, can they? It all has to be done thru “outside” organizations? Isn’t “the Swarm” free and independent of the university? If I’m the AD, I’m putting 2% of all revenues into an NIL trust, and eventually you have a self-sustaining warchest.
A. I hadn't paid attention to this previously. But you wouldn’t be able to, unless you were going to blatantly break the rules. Surprised that
A. You didn’t know that before because it has been covered repeatedly and
B. Been pointed out multiple times in this thread
Trying to figure out your motive in this thread
No you wouldn't. Do you even have a $200 Swarm membership? Anyone who would pay half their salary to such foolishness is just that foolish. Let's see save and invest for my extended family's future or pay some athletes. Is this legal?
He is afraid of getting fired and how many years on Earth you think that guy has left? He don't look healthy to me.Looks like the answer is yup
His photoshoots will go down in human history as a top 5 cringy momentHe is afraid of getting fired and how many years on Earth you think that guy has left? He don't look healthy to me.
Kirk Ferentz is not the type that is going to share his money if not tax deductible.Assuming that it is legal, then the only problem with the idea is that it makes sense. Therefore KF would never do it.
Damn shame he donated that money to the Stead Family Hospital. Terrible guy made a seven-figure gift to spite you.Kirk Ferentz is not the type that is going to share his money if not tax deductible.
I don’t have an issue with his donation levels. I also don’t think his hospital donations are that big of a deal considering his income level and guarantees from the University. Given the fact that his best achievement in the last decade is a close loss in a CCG, I’d say he got the better end of the deal.Damn shame he donated that money to the Stead Family Hospital. Foundation and collective are different. He’s promising a foundation gift IF fans give to the collective.Looks like the answer is yup
He could just as well be donating it directly to NIL. There is zero differenceFoundation and collective are different. He’s promising a foundation gift IF fans give to the collective.
Other than there is a significant difference you are spot onHe could just as well be donating it directly to NIL. There is zero difference
I’m only donating a million to the fund if we raise a million for NIL…I’ve agreed that they can’t directly donate, but come on.Other than there is a significant difference you are spot on
It’s a lead or matching gift. It is a significant way around the rules. There will be more and more creative waysI’m only donating a million to the fund if we raise a million for NIL…I’ve agreed that they can’t directly donate, but come on.
Smart guy.Kirk Ferentz is not the type that is going to share his money if not tax deductible.
Smart guy.
Here you are folks Kirk Derangment Syndrome on full display. hahahahahahahasuper smart guy, that’s why he vacations in his backyard like a ****ing quack
Derp. Guy is a geek. I don’t think anyone who isn’t overweight with insecurity about Iowa football would tell that he is not a dork with no life outside of Iowa football, him includedHere you are folks Kirk Derangment Syndrome on full display. hahahahahahaha
Bless you...the gift that keeps on giving.Derp. Guy is a geek. I don’t think anyone who isn’t overweight with insecurity about Iowa football would tell that he is a dork with no life outside of Iowa football, him included
I’ve posted on this board like 5x - you have no idea who I am. But I can you’re the insecure type that gets butthurt when people speak about the good captain in anything less than glowing terms of reverence.Bless you...the gift that keeps on giving.

Uses derp and then calls others dorks.......interesting approach.Derp. Guy is a geek. I don’t think anyone who isn’t overweight with insecurity about Iowa football would tell that he is not a dork with no life outside of Iowa football, him included
Ferentz will likely do some forms of this down the stretch of his career.
Ya gotta be careful with this, especially since you have logic in your name.KF is getting below current market value as coach right now,
I think Kirk is passed Brian Ferentz was let go before season was over and not when/how we wanted to do it, but I don't think he's really that pissed Brian Ferentz was let go. I think Kirk would have let him go at the end of that year or Brian would have resigned. That was going to be Brian’s last year as OC regardless.KF is getting below current market value as coach right now, but I would argue Athletic departments should be spending more on NIL and less on coaches---raising NIL is easily done by lowering ticket prices and then adding a surcharge for NIL
No Iowa coach has ever turned down a paycheck, so I don' t see them taking their own money and putting it into NIL.
I assume KF is pissed about BF getting let go, but BF did milk Iowa for probablly $5 million in salary while in his final 2 years putting up the worst 2 year Iowa offense in history of Iowa football.
You don’t know that, and there’s absolutely nothing about KF’s history of handling coaches (particularly coordinators) to suggest that that is the case. Keep your bullshit to yourself.I think Kirk is passed Brian Ferentz was let go before season was over and not when/how we wanted to do it, but I don't think he's really that pissed Brian Ferentz was let go.
