We’re to be this good this year after being picked to be finished near the bottom or the middle of the pack…

You would call me ….

All this talent coming back and look at our results? There’s just no excuse … Iowa should have 1 loss and now we are staring at a miserable season fighting for a PinStripe bowl in who doesn’t care land… KF dropped the ball and the bomb on this season… do I hope the Hawks win out? Of course … do I hope he’s going to hang it up after this season? I sure do… great mems coach F but goddamn you have just lost it. Look what Michigan did last year with their talent they returned (granted they have 4/5 stars sprinkled all over the place) but this Iowa team should have 1 loss and only one loss… I am afraid this season is going to get even worse than many expected.

This is the time of season I am the happiest, however this is just a sad sad sad season …. He definitely needs to hang it up after this season but of course he won’t… he will pull a Hayden Fry and stay too long and put the program into a dumpster fire even more than it already is…

Indiana is having a season for the ages. They aren't just winning games; they're throttling the competition. Granted, their resume isn't all that impressive, but unlike Iowa, they get their marquee game at home (OSU), and they actually have a puncher's chance of pulling it off. I suspect they can knock off Oregon were they to play in Bloomington or even a neutral site. I wouldn't put money on them making the B1G Championship game or the CFP, but 10 regular season wins is within reach (decent chance at 11-1, but they'll likely have to go 12-0 to make the conference title game). We'll find out what the Hoosiers are made of soon enough when the Buckeyes roll into town.

As Illinois has already played Penn State, we have a better idea of how good the Illini are. They didn't get embarrassed in Happy Valley, but they never truly threatened the Nits. They beat everyone else on their schedule so far, but now have the unenviable task of traveling to Eugene to take on an Oregon team that's night-and-day better than the September version. It's not an impossible game to win, but Oregon is a multi-score favorite for a reason. I'd imagine they'll finish 9-3 and probably just inside the Top 25 when it's all said and done.

Iowa right now has issues in all 3 facets of the game, and they aren't anything that can be corrected week-to-week. What you see is what you get.

Hawks first trip to Oregon ... oh my it will make that last one look close. Oregon actually comes to Kinnick next year, that will be ugly vs that sure to be talentless Hawk team. Next year will be a complete Fry final year type disaster.

If Iowa goes something like 5-13 between now and the end of 2025, which is not out of the question, I don’t think KF will be given the chance to stay.
If they finish 7-5 (or worse) this year, the administration (backed by donors) should sit him down and tell him it's over.

This season was projected by almost everyone as a potential playoff participant year with min 10 wins.

Give him the legacy perks (statue, name on the stadium, even a special position as University ambassador) and a commitment that they'll do everything in their power to support his HoF induction even though he doesn't have the 60% wins necessary...but...make it so he understands the time has come to step down, and oh, by the way, getting the full payout under the contract ain't happening. $7M in one lump sum is best/final offer.

Otherwise, we (donors) will cut off all NIL/Swarm donations. If you think working with a the current amount is hard, try working with zero support. As the losses mount, fans will begin to hate you Kirk. Is that really how you want to walk out the door?

Hopefully he has a come to Jesus moment and accepts the terms.

Enough with the name on the stadium thing. He’s done nothing to deserve that.

He's already stayed too long because he wont adapt to the way things are now.

I think Kirk wants to set the Big Ten win record before he bows out. I see him staying one more year and trying to get past Stagg.
That sounds pretty selfish to me ...and the "all time wins" thing will always have the asterisk of "all time losses" to go along with it ...plus the number of years it took him to accomplish it dulls the luster.

Step down Kirk while you still have a modicum of respect left from us non-cultists.

I have all the trust and confidence of BG. But I still feel like the Syndicate behind the scenes wants to see a shitty coach break Haye's record. Unlike the Roger Maris HR race, this one doesn't deserve to be broken by this guy.

I hope with all my might that they uphold and enforce the 60% requirement.

You're a little confused. He needs 6 wins to pass Woody Hayes. That would be next year unless we win out and win a bowl game.

He's 32 behind Stagg.

Kirk won’t leave on his own, like any other coach with integrity would. He wants a payout to leave, and he’ll let the program run into the ground until he gets it, I hope I’m wrong.

Still think we need to reassess this assessment at the end of the season. Michigan is turning out like I expected. USC............. well LOLZ!!!

Gabriel will be gone at QB.

Indiana's stud QB is hurt and out indefinitely.
I wondered about that, that could really derail their chances. We will see if the backup is ready, coached up, he played last week, and see if IU's system is just robust enough to plug and play

Backup came in after injury.
7/8 91 yards 2 TD
Rushing 2/21
Black kid 6'4" 212 dual threat.
Tayven Jackson Sophomore.
Not sure how he learned the playbook that fast.
He’s trace Jackson-Davis younger brother. He also started 5 games last year. Hes a better runner and a bigger arm than rourke. He transferred from Tennessee 2 years ago.

Indiana head coach came from JMU where he coaches to win ball games on offense and defense. Cignetti is close to 60 years old and is nothing like conservative KF. The man can’t retire fast enough for me.

Illini, they are doing Brett things, good enough on offense and defense to get the job done. I’d take either one at Iowa when KF will be forced out with an ugly exit I’m afraid. The man doesn’t know when to leave will be the issue. Regarding record, it’s a joke about the all time wins. He isn’t close to the most B1G game wins. Woody has that and it isn’t close.

Well what took the Indiana dude so long to work his way up?????? Football Jesus it seems like.

In reference to the OP, IU is at OSU on 11/23, not hosting. Certainly wish IU was hosting. We do get Washington and UM at home 2 of the next 3 Saturdays.
