If Iowa plays their hearts out like they did Saturday

I can see them running the table .. there’s going to be one more magical Kinnick night game this year and probably going to be the OSU game we are going to take that one.. and we match up very well with everyone else remaining on the schedule.. this is going to be a very special season

If D generates turnovers and limit points in the red zone this team will do extremely well. If D gives up 40+ they won't. A lot of deep analysis in this thread.

Saturday will tell more about this team. If the seniors step up and get the young guys to flush the PSU game. Then I have hope.

If they let PSU game beat them twice, then I am not liking the seasons direction.

I think Iowa can/will win 5 out of the 8 game left on their schedule (@NW, @Nebbie, Illini, Purdue, and Minnesota). The other 3 games (@MSU, @Wisky, and OSU) are "50/50." I would like to think we can take 2 out of those 3, but you never know.

The hawks have one game left that should be a sure win and that is Illinois. NW, MN, Purdue, will be toss ups. MSU & Nubs are slight favorites. Wisky & OSU will be prohibitive favorites. This is the year that the hawks don't play a weak schedule. I see 3 maybe 4 more wins for a possible 7 win season.

It is entirely unrealistic to expect the defense to play every game the rest of the season as they did against psu. Fortunately they won't have to since the majority of the rest of the offenses they'll be facing aren't nearly as good. Still, there will likely be head scratchers which will leave us wondering how that happened.
It's been an uneven performance, on both sides of the ball, through 4 games and I'm expecting to see more of that yet.

I think our D will be good for the remainder of the year. Maybe not Saturday night good every game but good.

Biggest factor will be if the offense can stay consistant through the season and not have crappy games that resemble the first half on Saturday. Really puzzled why we are running into blitzes. You got to take more advantage of the single coverage that other teams will be giving us.

8-4. In some big games, you need your offense to give your D some margin for error. I fully expect Wisky and OSU to run lots of plays and gain lots of yards against our D. We will lose those games, too unless our O can come to life

i just hope we get up for this MSU game. the big ten title game a couple years ago seemed to take a lot out of us (maybe?). granted, stanford was really good - but we just looked like that title game loss beat us down a bit. hoping the team isn't feeling to low after the PSU game. long season left and a lot to play for!

I like to hear this! But if iowa has 1st half’s like we did against penn state where we refuse to make early adjustments in the offensive game plan to make plays and keep the D from putting 9 guys in the box and we just run into it, try to run around it, try to run & jump over it with no success, it could be tough to run the table.. I truly think Iowa has enough talent to get to Indy and win but no first halfs like Penn State.
