If states want to ban settlement of refugees within their borders because they're worried about potential violent crime of those individuals, why aren't they also focusing on banning people moving from high crime areas to their state?

Statistically, crime and murder rates are very high in East St. Louis. Shouldn't Iowa prevent anyone from moving to our state from that area? It would make us safer, would it not?

Indeed it is. That was my point. They're fear mongering. Shouldn't they be more worried about threats here at home. Don't let those people from high crime areas move into your state. Better yet, let's do a study on what religion equates to the highest crime rate and not let those people into our states either.

This whole issue has a middle ground of sanity but it has gotten ridiculous to the point of my analogy.

Well, looks like we need to ban religious people from moving into our state. They are murderers and criminals...

from https://www.psychologytoday.com/blo...ation-and-facts-about-secularism-and-religion which is article about: http://pitweb.pitzer.edu/academics/...8/2014/12/FAC-Zuckerman-Sociology-Compass.pdf

"Citing four different studies, Zuckerman states: "Murder rates are actually lower in more secular nations and higher in more religious nations where belief in God is widespread." He also states: "Of the top 50 safest cities in the world, nearly all are in relatively non-religious countries."

Within the United States, we see the same pattern. Citing census data, he writes: "And within America, the states with the highest murder rates tend to be the highly religious, such as Louisiana and Alabama, but the states with the lowest murder rates tend to be the among the least religious in the country, such as Vermont and Oregon."

And these findings are not limited to murder rates, as rates of all violent crime tend to be higher in "religious" states. Zuckerman also points out that atheists are very much under-represented in the American prison population (only 0.2%)."

Why do you give non-citizens the same consideration as citizens?

Because those refugees will eventually be citizens of the United States. Are you saying we should treat non-citizen people living in this country, or people visiting this country for that matter, differently when it comes to telling them where they can and can't go within our borders?

The answer is obviously yes. Unfortunately, liberal brainlessness has made it all to easy for folks from east St. Louis or Chicago to reap the benefits of section 8 housing in multiple markets, and you've seen the results.

Gonegolfing, are you a white male? If so, serial killers have been shown to be overwhelmingly white males.

Should we prevent you from moving to certain states in the fear that you'll kill people?

Lock him up! Lock him up! The danger is too great to take the risk.

The Bantustanization of America - the new conservative plan. As if gated communities aren't bad enough.
