Do you guys think Wisconsin is a top 25 team and Bo is still coaching? Hayes and Koenig have shown they can be top role players but when they have to lead they have some shooting struggles. Uthoff has looked like an all-American this year.

I really believe this is why Bo threw such a fit about Uthoff leaving. He knew he would be a key piece in this year's team.

Bo had it all calculated and him leaving threw a huge wrench into his system.

Imagine if both Uthoff and Dekker stuck around. Incredible front court, but guard play still suspect. See comparison below. Of course these numbers improve with more talented players surrounding them, but nonetheless...

Gesell/Clemmons combined:
Assists - 159
Turnovers - 53
A/TO ratio - 3.0

Showalter/Koenig combined:
Assists - 76
Turnovers - 53
A/TO ratio - 1.43

Bo was insisting that JU bulk up and play inside. He'd be good, but not the same player he is now.

Well he's put on almost 50 pounds since high school, so I'd say he's bulked up. Bo has never had any issue with any of his bigs playing stretch. Kaminsky led the team in both 3pt% and assists last year.

They would have won the last two national championships if Uthoff was there.

Uthoff has stepped up his game a lot this year....Last year, you give UW more depth with a Uthoff at forward, but hard to find PT for him with Dekker and Hayes. Maybe it give UW enough of a bump to put them over the top...hard to say.

Right now, if you put Uthoff on any team in B1G, he makes that team a contender.

Seeing UW struggle is fun. UW fans saying no drop off this year..or nearly so..so funny after losing their two best players to NBA.

Pretty sure Hayes wasn't offered until Uthoff left and opened a scholly. In any case, doesn't matter.

It sure does seem like Bo quit because he knew this team would hurt his record. If he had Uthoff, I'd think yeah, he'd stay.

Uthoff is 10x the player Hayes is. He would have had no trouble getting playing time. Hayes was a garbage guy and a spot up shooter last year that's why he struggling this year when he is the guy. Easy to look good when you're the 3-4 option playing with a couple NBA players.

You stole my thunder. Hayes is the one that would be hard pressed to see the floor. Not nearly as skilled as Uthoff.

You know what makes me feel good about Uthoff leaving Wisconsin and coming to Iowa...I mean in addition to what he does for us night in and night out. Jarrod Uthoff cost Wisconsin an almost certain National Championship by transferring.

Uthoff redshirted, sat out a year, and then played 3 at Iowa. Do if he had stayed in Madison he would be 5th year senior right now

Two years ago Hayes was allot better than Uthoff, last year they were about equal IMO and this year Jarrod has clearly surpassed Hayes.

I don't think he would have made a big difference two years ago but last year it would have been hard to keep him off the court.

Nigel averaged 7 points and 3 rebounds, he didn't shoot a three and shot 58% from the line two years ago. Uthoff averaged 7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 42% from three and 80%+ from the line. Hayes has never been allot better than Uthoff. Fran had a quick leash with Uthoff that year and I still don't understand why he didn't let him play through some struggles, while he watched Mccabe ruin the team.

Jarrod Uthoff's last year of eligibility had he stayed at Wisconsin would have been this season since he reshirted his freshman year.

Screw Bo and screw Wisconsin.

A) No Duh, Uthoff is playing like a superstar this year and is better than Hayes.
B) Last year UW had Decker, so Uthoff would have had to steal time from him and Hayes. Hayes is not as skilled as Uthoff, but Hayes was a good garbage/inside guy for UW last year, and Uthoff wasn't super strong inside last year. Not saying Hayes was better, just that his skillset matched what UW needed.
C) Fran kept Uthoff on bench a lot as a sophomore, when Uthoff clearly brought more to the 3 position than Whitey did and certainly was better than McCabe. McCabe ended up on huge 3pt shooting slump, whereas Uhoff was 40% or better from 3pt line.
