OP and others who agree with him. it’s your prerogative to use the ignore list but what do you really gain? for instance the tariff thread has participation from all sides and from what i saw (i acknowledge omly sampling some of the posts) was pretty informative.
i would say you should engage with your opposition otherwise you are doing exactly what folks who don’t want america to thrive would like to see. you should definitely pillory your opponents mercilessly when you can but also take the punch if called for.

No, he's suffering from shell shock and this is his coping mechanism for the election and then welching on the bet he made with me completely.
The immature reaction to the election from the sore winners and sore losers alike has been neither enjoyable nor surprising. So many pathetic people. The issue I see that has formed in the USA is that people are treating politics now like their religion. They removed actual religion from their lives and replaced with with politics.
It appears I've underestimated the level of mental health issues we have in this country.

There are a lot of similarities.
Government has replaced God as a supreme being. The Transfiguration has been replaced by transgenderism. The body and blood of Christ is manifested in the body and blood of aborted babies. And instead of the forgiveness of sins we get the forgiveness of student loans.

Rs treat politics like their religion. Let's set that straight. They literally think of Trump as their God.
He can do no wrong in their books. They can't quit him. They identify as him. It's sick. You think we Dems have any real attachment to Biden or Harris? They're just elected officials to us. Sure we can hold rallies and get excited about them. But at the end of the day, we see them as people who can either run the country or not.
But Trump supporters think he's some divine god. Even when he loses they still pray he will come back. They need him in their lives. It's really fvcked up behavior.

I am on record with my observations on the left’s invention of a shared secular morality, I call it the ‘Lisa has become Flanders’ hypotheses. I read some interesting commentary a while back which included data that correlated the decline in church participation on the right with the rise in Trumpism—anyone who denies the abandonment of certain core Christian values in MAGA is not credible.
There probably are some who think and act that way, no doubt, but they are going to respond to every perceived “attack” by responding to posts like yours that continually fan the flames.
If they could just simmer in their own stew and you don’t stir that pot it will burn out.

Both Trump and Biden are to blame. You won’t hear the inconvenient truth from any Republican, but Trump issued more stimulus (i.e. printed more money) than Biden. That is not an opinion, that is the objective reality.
But only one of them got the blame because inflation takes a while to show up.
Some? It's millions. How do you have a country when millions of Republicans think the president is God and can do whatever he wants?
And it won't burn out. Trump won't let it. We could not say a peep and Trump will just make up outrages to keep his flock going. You know it's true.

No we haven't. We see government as a tool to improve our lives. Because that's the function of government. It's the Rs who see government as a religion. They even push Christianity into government realms to marry the two.
The sane conservatives died decades ago. Fred Barnes and William F. Buckley wouldn't even make it in the gop these days. And yes, I am aware Buckley is deceased.
