Illinois putting on a clinic

Illinois has guardsmen hat can break down defense. And, when heads are screwed on, play very, very solid defense. They can be scary.

And Illinois has played Michigan's pick and roll much better than Iowa did

Michigan needed to be brought down a notch. Looks Like Illinois is playing out of the this world withouth their star

No. Sometime a team is just hot, sometimes they are not. This is the reverse of Iowa - MI.
Exactly. As bad as MSU has been at times this year, just like Iowa beating Sparty by 30 in Izzo land. We could play that game 50 times and never have that happen a second time. The BIG is just crazy this year.......

Hard to believe that was the same Michigan team we lost too last week by 22. I would like to get another shot at them in the B1G tourney.

Michigan seemed like they played all their tough games at home.. Tonight the Home court didnt help. I bet Illini will turn around and lose to OSU sat.. watch. Thats how the Big Ten goes. we just need to win our next two and see how we play out in the B10 tourney and beyond.

They played Iowa, Illinois and OSU only once. Iowa and Illinois in Ann Arbor. Not saying they aren't deserving, they are. They have played lights out this year. But good to see they can play bad too just like everyone else.

Illinois got every 50-50 ball. Was men against boys tonight. I really felt going into the season, Illinois had the best team in the conference. Early, they weren’t playing full 40 minutes. The chemistry wasn’t there. They didn’t have much of an identity on offense. But they got their act together. Based on talent, experience, I think they have a very good opportunity to win it all. I’ve always liked Trent Frazier, except when he kills Iowa. I believe he is very underrated.

They do probably have the second best group of guards behind Gonzaga.

Frazier and Dosunmu are excellent and Miller is a nice shooter.

Curbelo is the x factor, he's so agressive on the baseline and in the lane but he's almost unstoppable when he's making the right decisions.

And this is why michigan playing a light schedule matters. Funny how things change once those legs start to wear out or the focus isn't maintained. The types of things that happen when you need to grind through a bug ten schedule. We better be ready for Nebraska on Thursday.

This had more to do with michigan than illinois. Just like our loss to Michigan had more to do with us. We might not win a rematch with michigan but I doubt it would be a beating like we took in the first game ...anymore than if we played Gonzaga again.

Let Gonzaga okay our schedule....they wouldn't be ranked first in the country

So the way things are looking right now the 1s are Gonzaga, Baylor, Michigan and Illinois. If Iowa wins out they will get a 2 seed most likely. Considering we've played 3 of the 4 1s, do you think they pair us with Baylor? I think Baylor is the best of the 1s when they playing at their best. Their length, speed, and athleticism is better then the other 3. Where they may struggle is they play with a lot of emotion both good and bad, and if the ball isn't going in the net the emotional pendulum may swing in the wrong direction. But when the ball is going in I don't think any of the other 1s are as good as them.

How does a team get beat by MSU,then turn around a week later and kick the crap out of Michigan with out their best player?
Frazier is playing out of his mind, and Underwood has got his team playing that hero ball/streetball style to perfection.

Their offense is essentially flashy-looking drives or dribble-dribble-dribble, then do some between the legs crossovers to look cool, then give a few hard drive steps forward, then jump back and shoot a fade away 3 or mid range jumper while keeping that shooting hand out in case the shot goes in so they can show off after they make it....or feed Cockburn the ball inside.

One of these days, that heroball 3 isn't gonna be falling, and it's gonna be a sad day......for Illini fans.

Is that really what you saw? “Street ball?”

lol

Read this (maybe a few times paying particular attention to the defense sections):

Then watch again.

Iowa > your version of Iowa > Illinois

Read that and deal with it.....then read it again.......and continue dealing with it.
