Always an excuse. This was better than nothing by a long ways. Most of the items in there were Republican demands. The puppet Speaker demanded border addressed for Ukraine bill and now they pull this. The border is just a prop for them and we just screwed our ally. This The Republican way.
The bill they're proposing does nothing to make the border more secure. It's an attempt by Dems to create a talking point that "we tried but Rs don't want to fix the border."
The Republican architects of this bill are surely playing a dimension of chess our puny human brains can't comprehend.
No, it's not better than nothing. The House gave the Senate a bill to work from 8 months ago that addresses our border. The Senate sabotaged this by tying it to Ukraine, Israel, and all the slush fund provisions amounting to billions of dollars that will have to be borrowed. Meanwhile, Biden created part of the problem with his day one executive orders. If Biden wants to solve the problem, he can ask his buddies in the Senate to work with the House on a specific bill like the one they already passed.
