you can’t always get what you want!
Customer behavior mystifies me at these joints……The ones I am familiar with have adequate seating inside….its clean…its AC controlled and well attended by staff….They do a good job running business thru their wait lines, too…..My question is “Why do folks choose to sit in their cars for 30 minutes in their “drive-up” orders to be placed and delivered to their car….when they can go inside and be done with iot in about the same amount of time?
I noticed this a couple of years ago in Texas….and the last two years here in AZ……I cant figure it out…..for the life of me.

Ain’t a fast food joint in the world I’m waiting in line for 30 minutes to get food.

Because Americans are fat and lazy.

In-N-Out is so overrated. If you didn’t grow up on it and have the nostalgia factor it’s a mediocre burger with terrible fries (you have 45 seconds to eat them all and then they’re cold garbage).
So much, this.

You have to get the fries animal style. Still not the greatest but average. Burgers are very good with veggies that are fresh fresh. Shakes are the best. Better than Shake Shack or any other fast food place.

Have you tried the red cake malts at Portofino’s?( the hot dog joints)
I think they are the best I have tasted as an adult!

In-laws moved to Arizona so I finally tried it. It was fine for a fast food burger but we could have ordered one at a restaurant. I'll never go there again. I don't like drinking their Jesus juice and don't need proselytizing on my food.

Portillo’s. I love that place.

I will wait in a drive thru lane when I just can’t people. Listen to a book, scroll on my phone, sometimes I might be on a call.

This. I drive a luxury vehicle. I can push a button and get a massage in it. Air conditioned seats. Great sound system. Many times I’d rather just sit in that and chill. That said, the only fast food place worth waiting for is the occasional Chick Fil A.

I can’t say this out loud here in Cali, but Whataburger > In-N-Out.
I like In-N--Out because I first had it as a "treat" when traveling to CA. It's in TX, and now that I'm back here, I've had it once, so not enough for it to go from a treat to just regular fast food. That said, I do think Whataburger is way better.

I'll add my own hot sports opinion that shoestring fries are the worst version of fries.

In-N-Out is like Chick-fil-A.

Great service. Meh fries
Personally I like In-n-Out fries, but they do have to be eaten hot.
Love Chick-fil-A fries.

Non-Californians don't understand In-n-Out. No one is claiming it's the best food on the planet. What it has always been is a really good, fresh fast food burger for cheaper than anywhere else. Prices have gone up a bit, but I used to get the double-double, fries and a drink for less than $7.
Place is always clean, service is always friendly.

People are lazy AF, even to their own time detriment.

I do this at Culvers frequently - pull in, park, go in and order, get my to-go and the car that pulled in right before me is still 4 cars back in the drive thru lane. But hey. they didn't have to STAND UP AND WALK somewhere, so good for them!

I don’t really like Whataburger (way too greasy) or in and out. I just don’t get it.

This. I do the same. Especially at Dunkin Donuts on a weekend morning.

I have owned a courier delivery co for 23 yrs. in austin tx. I go to in-n-out in austin. I sit in the long lines... because you gotta think about it: tied to my phone in the car.... do not bring it in the place, don't wanna disrupt everyone.... also we cannot leave the am radio for five seconds.... you know who is on during lunch time , right?? ha ha

I only ate at Steak and Shake once when we lived in the QC because those shoestring fries are so awful. They tasted like those things in a can. Absolute trash.
