IN vs MSU

I wish I had your optimism - a lot of us down Bloomington way are just hoping that IU doesn't embarrass themselves by playing as poorly as they've shown they can away from Assembly Hall. Can get away with such this year in some Conference venues, don't imagine Breslin (or Carver) to be among them.

Looking forward to a headline later today/tomorrow that reads, "Hawkeyes Feast on Gophers". Good hunting.

MSU is has looked pretty solid outside of the first half at Purdue. I think they muscle their way to a win.

A lot of talk of muscling. I agree, much to my deep concern that the Big Ten is going to let the dogs hunt the last 1/3rd of the season.

Another reason sweeping MSU & Purdue early was important. The remaining teams aren't scary physically outside of a few individual players.

MSU with a big run late to win comfortably - MSU high 70s to IN mid-60s

IU has some confidence after their win over us. I think this game is closer than everyone thinks but Sparty gets them late and we're back in first at the end of the day.

That's true until we get to the Big Ten Tournament. This is going to sound paranoid or superstitious, but our greatest years have always included some disaster at the end that no one could have been certain was coming. Usually some ironic disaster.

The Fabulous Five were ahead of their time but ran into one guy, Bill Russell, who proved the NCAA needed new rules by repeatedly committing what would be goal tending...someday.
Ronnie Lester limped his way within a fingernails reach of a national championship when his knee gave out in sight of the finish line.

And I keep thinking that the new emphasis on freedom of movement and actually calling fouls has played a big part in showing what our Hawkeyes can do. I'm looking for the other shoe to drop. The game to end it like a New Rules/No Rules Rollerball match and some silhouetted corporate figures shadow is seen in the closing shots counting stacks of cash.

I would like to see MSU win, I will say that Indiana is playing some good ball right now, but most of all I just want to see Iowa keep winning and the rest of the conference will just take care of it's self for Iowa winning the B1G championship. Got to get by those Gophers first.

Would feel very confidant of an MSU win if Nairn was available to guard Yogi.

Still think MSU should win though.

26-21 Indiana in 1st half. I think Indiana is legit. If their bench continues to hit 3pt shots, they have drivers, and two centers. Bielfeldt is giving them better play than what Uhl has been giving Iowa recently.

LOL...so the only reason Indiana is up is because Michigan St isnt showing up? How about, Indiana is for real?

Not sold on Ind.
Thats actually fair...

Let me ask you this question...if they win today....will you be "sold" on them?

I get the pessimism about them.....as an IU fan, I'm always waiting for Crean to screw something up! They have only played 1 great team this year, and their D was historically bad at the beginning of the year. But, if anyone looks at this team with an unbiased view, its really hard to say that they haven't been playing very very well lately.

Why are you here?

Why not?

They win today and it is hard to say they haven't beaten the best teams on their schedule.

I bet most people in your camp were 100% sure the Iowa football team was legit though.
I consider an undefeated regular season legit. A few seconds away from playing for Nat Title is legit. I bet you thought they should've went 15-0 & challenged the Broncos to prove they're legit.

Yea.....really? Any Hawk fan in their right mind today is not an IU fan. And not that I crave being a Sparty fan either but when you are tracking a league championship, going for the gold...my allegiance, my ally friend is whoever helps me win the war.... and today it is Sparty.

BTW....we had to beat this Sparty team TWICE.

Just a reminder to all those IU fans and any other Big fans who love to visit our Hawk board. We luv having you here.. ;)

Yes if they come back and win today I would stop talking about their weak schedule as they have proven it against the top teams.. However, they have some work to do down the stretch here!

This is why I'm not sold on Ind. they aren't good. Iowa will beat them by 20 points.

Transition defense and rebounding is needed to beat a team like Indiana.. Basically an effort thing which is nice.

Indiana doesn't have defensive intensity today. They were literally on Iowa's jocks (& Jok) all night and have been getting penetrated at will in this second half today. Refs calling the game a little closer to the vest or did we cave?

For sure.. and the officials against Indiana were just fine but I thought it was odd they didnt blow one whistle the first four minutes of that Iowa/Indiana game with how much contact and grabbing there was..
