In an ESPN article, one of the features is Phil Parkers Stance on the defense. He is trying to give up less big plays in which he considers runs of 15, and throws of 20. I consider Iowa to be a top ten team because of their elite, yes elite defense.

We all know about the pass defense troubles. They have allowed over 22 plays of 20 yards. But the saving face comes in the run defense. Only 5 plays of 15 or more yards. That is absolutely incredible to me. Now I know we haven't really faced a running team yet, but still, 5 plays, Iowa's done that in a game... multiple times.

Pitt, Wisconsin, Northwestern and even Illinois State are all running teams.

Wisconsin has become a passing team, they have passed 2x as much as they run. Pitt is also a passing team, with their top rb out, and may have best wr in game. Northwestern, I'll give you that. Iliinois state.... really.

Yes, but we are not facing the same caliber running backs as we did last year! Johnson, Conner, Coleman, Cobb, Gordon, Abdullah, Hurd etc...All in the NFL or will be! If our young LB's didn't have to face this murders row of backs, they might not have taken so many lumps. Could we handle them better this year? Probably, but I don't think were 4 in the country in rush defense playing these caliber of backs this year. Know what I mean. This group of backs made almost EVERYONE look bad! Want me to list their 40 times, lol.

No, Wiscy has 260 rushes and 245 passes so far, about 50/50, which for them is very pass heavy. Wiscy averages about 65% run over the last 10 years or so.

Hawks are awesome and unstoppable in every facet of the game, and about to go on a historic run, the likes of which no cfb fan has ever seen. Hawk fan will get the respect they so obviously deserve and this will complete most of their lives. I, for one, am just enjoying the ride.

If the fans cannot celebrate their football team's success, what is the use of having a football program?
