Have the opportunity to go see Indiana or Maryland when they come south to play FIU this fall. Neither team is on our schedule so I'm cool with either game. Which one would you choose?

Both teams should be able to score quite a few points. The obvious caveat is what kind of defense FIU will field this season; what are their strengths and weaknesses, etc. Indiana is a faster pace offense with multiple wide-out sets. Maryland should be more of a traditional offense, run oriented, but will probably attempt more deep passes for the big play score.

I expected most replies to focus on offense and scoring. I'm in the minority because I am defense oriented and focus more on what is happening on that side of the ball so I am just as excited or entertained when good defense is played. Most fans like to see high scoring PAC or B12 type games where more than 100 total points are scored. I'm the opposite - I'm more impressed when I watch a team hold an opponent to 20 points or less. Even better if both teams have high quality defenses. In that regard, I believe Maryland returns a better defense but that is TBD.

I'd like to know how FIU got a non-conference schedule twice as good as ours.....

I don't know about that. ISU (in-state rivalry) and NDSU (5X defending FCS champs) should be relatively tough opponents and Miami of Ohio would be a better game than UMass. In the past FIU has played the Florida schools (Miami, Gators and FSU) non-con so this year's competition might be considered relatively weak in comparison. What is impressive is that FIU was able to schedule two B10 opponents on consecutive weeks at home in the same year.

Indiana is the opening Thursday night of the season, and Maryland is the following Friday. Interesting. Though the weird nights only gained them ESPNU and CBSSN telecasts.

Indiana. Their offense can be fun to watch.

Do a lot of Iowa fans sit in the stands and say man this Indiana team is fun to watch or do they sit in the stands and say WTF is wrong with our defense. If it's the latter not sure I would say they are going to be fun to watch for the OP.

Try attending a game in person sometime and you would know.

Minnesota?

If you had followed along you would know what I was talking about.

RECAP
Guy said Indiana or Maryland
Another guy said Indiana they are a fun offense to watch
I asked is it fun for the Iowa fans in the stands, do they really sit around and said man Indiana is fun to watch
Some douchenozzle jumped in and said if you ever attended a game you would know that answer.
I said I did last year and I dont remember saying Minnesota was fun to watch as they did score 35 points on our Hawkeyes.

So ya, Minnesota.

Indiana barely lost to Ohio State and Michigan State, and put together some good wins. Wonderful offense, not much defense. Definitely Indy.
