RVZ is a big loss. Lachey seems like he should be back for UCLA.
he was in a boot; but other than that, do you know what he injured? foot? ankle?
The UCLA game is suddenly more interesting, too. They are playing better; short turn around; Friday night game; long flight; 2 hour time change; etc.
Not sure, not much detail on it that I could find.
Lachey was out there pregame moving around a bit, but to me it looked like he still had a bit of a limp going.Injury Updates:
Luke Lachey (quad) is expected to be OUT against the Badgers but could return next Friday at UCLA. It's the quad injury Lachey suffered against Northwestern that's continuing to linger.
As a result, Zach Ortwerth will start at tight end. Johnny Pascuzzi, Hayden Large and Andrew Lentsch could provide depth.
Iowa's QB depth continues to thin:
* Cade McNamara OUT with a concussion
* Marco Lainez OUT with a broken left thumb (happened in practice Monday). Lainez has already had surgery and is expected to miss the rest of the regular season. A bowl-game return is possible.
* Jackson Stratton is the official backup to Brendan Sullivan tonight.

Hot=understatementWatched some of the Vandenberg podcast deal. Former Iowa WR and his hot wife who does the in game stuff. They had Quinn Schulte on one and he said he tries to avoid Phil Parker on Fridays and pregame on Saturdays because he is so intense. Vandeberg was like I think he has softened up a lot since he was in school. He said back then he was that way all week.
With no depth at QB, it would take just a few minutes of practice time to be prepared for disaster with Johnson and/or Wetjen taking snaps. It would require no install of new blocking schemes.
They had Ben Keuter on that podcast. Ben said he grew up buddies with one of Dan Gable's grandsons and they obviously both wrestled. They ended up sharing a rental property (owned by Dan Gable) right next to Dan Gable's house and they would go over to his house and Dan would put them through workouts and wrestling matches. He said you never knew what he was going to make you do and some of them were hard as hell.Yeah, Matt landed a beauty.
