2025 Roster Tracker

Don't have to be at 105 until August so likely some tough conversations after spring ball. Would like to see the portal not open up until after the bowls. It leaves some teams so short handed.
Wouldn't make much of a difference as far as bowl participation goes. Players can announce at any time that they're entering the portal. There would still be tons of players who know they're leaving that don't want to participate in bowl prep that announce their departure. The only thing that would change is that official recruiting from the portal would not be able to start until after the bowls, and I'm not sure that's a good thing.

You're talking about Nebraska because you have a derangement disorder and need to seek help.
Let me get this straight - You, a Neb fan, who claims to spend 3 minutes a day here checking for Neb threads, interjects himself in the middle of a thread that has had no Neb mention, insults the Iowa fan base, gets called out, then claims that the poster who did so has an unhealthy obsession with Neb?

That’s some really funny sh*t right there.

He needs to loosen his singlet...it's strangling the jewels I'd guess.

Ah but I didn't say anything about Nebraska. I said that I was told that Iowa would never have tough conversations with players to cut fat. That has nothing to do with Nebraska. The poster below me brought Nebraska into it. Oddly enough, I was told that Iowa would never do this in a thread that you guys started about - GASP! - Nebraska.

Try harder. Do better. Try rooting for a team more than you hate other teams. You know, normal stuff.

You're just being stupid now. My post was entirely accurate and your strawman argument doesn't change that. There is no way Nebraska would have been brought up in this thread without your stirring the pot.

And your last line is especially dumb. Just stop. And no, I don't hate Nebraska; no need to hate on a team that has been a worthless program my entire adult life and that my team has dominated. Kinda like Purdue. Makes no sense.

Jackson stratton, max white, alex eichmann, will hubert, luke gaffney, nolan delong, kelby telander, graham eben, kael kolarik are all pretty safe bets.
Think Stratton gets a scholarship if he sticks around? No clue where #s are on that end with the 85. Usually Iowa has 5 invested with wanting one in every class plus red shirt. Have Jimmy Sullivan coming in, Hank brown, Brendan Sullivan and hopefully one more portal guy. With fitz’s boy as a walk on

We currently have 40 walk-ons - around 120 or 125 total on the team. We can keep 105, so we have plenty of room for 20 walkons left on the team. Those at 104-125 probably never (maybe 1 or 2) will ever see the field.

For those interested, we currently have 26 walk-ons for 2025.
13 saw playing time this year: Kolarik, Telander, Rexroth, DeLong, Epenesa, Gaffney, Hubert, Nissen, Vonnahme, Eichmann, Miller, Stratton, and White
10 have not seen the field yet: Gerardy, McBride, Larson, Van Ness, Laughlin, Speltz, Eben, Winter, Knipp, Borud. Gerardy did make the travel team a couple times however
3 are incoming freshman: Fitzgerald, Heitman, Jackson

We have had pretty good long snappers for a while. You'd think one of the returning walk-ons or a ln OL lower on the depth chart does it in practice. Wasn't Eric Epenesa a long snapper at one time? Could see more playing time and possibly get to the League, if they excel.

Graham Eben and Mason Knipp are no longer listed on Iowa's roster. I haven't officially heard that they are in the portal yet, but it is safe to assume that they are no longer on the team. I'm a bit surprised by Eben as I thought he might be a sleeper candidate for the cash position in the future.

This brings the 2025 roster to 105 players as of right now, assuming the return of both Wetjen and Kueter.

I would expect signing another portal player or two and more attrition after spring ball.

RVW decommitted from NIU. Looks like he will be joining Drinkall at CMU. Former Quad Cities boys united.
