Hope so. Start kicking people off SSD. Reevaluate what is a disability that truly prevents employment.

I heard a D on CNBC talking about cutting social security benefits this morning. If the D's were serious about cutting spending, we had balanced budgets, and as a country, we started paying back some of our national debt, I'd be more than happy to give up my social security when I retire. I don't need it, and many others are in the same boat.

That won't work if we start there. At that point, the D's won't be willing to cut spending.

I'm more than willing to have reduce tax cuts, if the spending cuts work.

1) republicans will have full control. Democrats can’t stop them.
2) no tax cuts period if you’re serious about reducing the deficit.
3) Trump will end up ramming thru a massive tax cut that most Americans see little or no benefit from, and they will do very little actual work on the budget in the end.

I hope to see massive spending cuts.

The more likely scenario is that we see an extension of current tax cuts (meaning rates won't be going up). And that has a positive impact on most people that pay taxes.

I don’t hate the idea of spending cuts; but massive ones like you evidently want, without any thought for the consequences, will be very bad for the country.

And no - trump has specifically promised massive new tax cuts…he won’t be satisfied with maintaining status quo.

But by all accounts they appear to be going in with the mindset of cut, cut, cut; and I’m not okay with that.

They will cut everything they determine is "woke" and will streamline freebies for the companies they own.

Normally, anyone tasked with this type of thing would recuse from anything moderately related to their own business. We know that will not happen, and the opposite will occur here.
