Here's a fact. I've lived through several hurricanes and FEMA has never given me a single penny.

Libertarians are libertarians right up until the point the s**t hits the fan. It's a great philosophy to have in chat rooms and at parties, but in practical applications it falls apart pretty quickly.
See? This is the kind of stupidity I was talking about in the "paid off your mortgage" thread. FL's '24-'25 budget total is about $116B. Federal assistance for Hurricane Ian ALONE was over $5B. That storm, by itself, would eat up nearly 4.5% of your total budget. You could pay for that out of your rainy-day budget...it would take a full third. Better not have another disaster.
Florida is a red state so Donnie pooh will bail them out. Just imagine what he will claim the value of Mar-a-Lago was if that ever gets hit by a hurricane.
A blue state on the other hand? He'll just cut some more funding to their universities.
