Exactly! Iowa shouldn't have to subsidize Florida's storm recoveries.FEMA needs to get out of the way and let the states handle it.

Are the states gonna pay for “it”? Go for “it”.FEMA needs to get out of the way and let the states handle it.
Yeah. Florida will be a big loser if they have to do hurricane cleanup on their own.Are the states gonna pay for “it”? Go for “it”.
Tell me you don't know where the funding comes from for these natural disasters?FEMA needs to get out of the way and let the states handle it.

So when Florida gets blasted by hurricanes the feds don’t help your state at all?? You seriously want that?FEMA needs to get out of the way and let the states handle it.
So, that means what after the next storm?Big Government has been exceeding its constitutional power by offering to give money to the states for far too long.
He hasn't thought that far ahead yet.So, that means what after the next storm?

You will see how libertarians rally to the cause. It means people will stop sucking at the federal teat because it ain't giving milk no more.
So Florida was just playing with all previous disaster declarations? Didn't actually need help? You seem to have this all figured out.It means people will stop sucking at the federal teat because it ain't giving milk no more.
Show us your facts. Is it possible they will do worse than last year ? FEMA tried not to held Republicans on purpose. That's a fact. No debating it. Now we are going to grade them on how they do this year?

Trad will be HAPPY to pay 10x/yr in property taxes to cover this.

When FEMA won't send him any bottled water, and Amazon will be charging $250 for a 12-pkSo, that means what after the next storm?
Yes, a FEMA employee made a bad mistake and was fired for it. I'm sure you would also acknowledge that prior to this, FEMA employees were receiving threats and confrontations while trying to do their jobs as a result of lies pushed by your boys Don and Musk.Is it possible they will do worse than last year ? So, you think FEMA is avoiding you? Or, did you, thankfully, not suffer damages that they would help with? Here's a fact. I've lived through several hurricanes and FEMA has never given me a single penny.
A glimpse inside the mind of Trad and other Cons like him. "I've never been personally impacted, therefore this agency is pointless and should cease to exist". No further thoughts. Here's a fact. I've lived through several hurricanes and FEMA has never given me a single penny.
That is an awesome glimpse. Well done.A glimpse inside the mind of Trad and other Cons like him. "I've never been personally impacted, therefore this agency is pointless and should cease to exist". No further thoughts.

Libertarians are libertarians right up until the point the s**t hits the fan. It's a great philosophy to have in chat rooms and at parties, but in practical applications it falls apart pretty quickly. You will see how libertarians rally to the cause.
I reckon you are self insured and just dare mama nature to come atcha.
Thankfully, all of your neighbors are on board with your plans and won’t be mad atcha when no relief shows up.
Silly boy, you might handle your property but, are you gonna rebuild the bridges and roads?
JFC.
Good thinking, we should just leave it all up to Amazon. It means people will stop sucking at the federal teat because it ain't giving milk no more.
See? This is the kind of stupidity I was talking about in the "paid off your mortgage" thread. FL's '24-'25 budget total is about $116B. Federal assistance for Hurricane Ian ALONE was over $5B. That storm, by itself, would eat up nearly 4.5% of your total budget. You could pay for that out of your rainy-day budget...it would take a full third. Better not have another disaster.FEMA needs to get out of the way and let the states handle it.
Florida is a red state so Donnie pooh will bail them out. Just imagine what he will claim the value of Mar-a-Lago was if that ever gets hit by a hurricane.FL will go broke "handling it".
