InterMat ranks Iowa's recruiting class #12

Some good stuff in that article and the one Intermat(linked below). A lot of what we've been discussing on this board.

Is it "quality over quantity" when is comes to recruits??

The recruiting class rankings for Ohio State in the previous five years were the following: 4th (2014), 11th, 16th, 1st (2011), and 12th

Logan Stieber was the top recruit in the Class of 2010, Bo Jordan the same in 2013, and Kyle Snyder for 2014

So, in 2011 they had the #1 class.. in 2010, 2012, and 2013 they had the #1 recruit - pretty impressive. Also shows you can't have the #1 recruiting class every year(or even close).

Iowa needs guys like Marinelli, Hall, and Lee to along with a big class in there (like the Soph class).

When you do that - you're probably sacrificing some depth.

you can look at the big classes as support classes to the studs that OSU brought in. Some of those pan out, and some don't. (Courts, Tomasello)

As alluded to in an earlier thread, seems the tournament mold is to get 2-3 Big Point getters and hope the best for the rest. If you have 3 #1 recruits in a row (even if those are the only ones in the class(, and a #1 recruiting class thrown in also, you have a good shot at success, if there is no injury.

Great to see Coach Schwab land an outstanding recruiting class. Really hope the Hawks and Panthers can work out the details for a dual meet to occur in the next couple years.

With Iowa losing 3 wrestlers to the burglary charges, that frees up some scholarship money doesn't it?

Is there any chance TOM makes a late push to get a 141 pounder in this recruiting class?

I have a feeling the money was already used to get Holloway and I think Turk is one of the best 141 prospects out there. Also unless there is some kind of transfer situation out there like a B Butler there just is not a lot of big time talent left so just divy up that money for 1 year to some guys who need it and then use it for next years stellar class.

Vince Turk is a 141 so they got one signed long before this situation arose.
