The Moonlight Graham Show interviewed Jack Brownlee this week. He had some interesting stories about being a role player for the Hawks during the Alford era. You guys may enjoy it. Here are a couple of the cool stories he tells:

- Alford chewing out the team after a Northwestern loss while making 99 out of 100 free throws
- Nate Kaeding posing as Pierre Pierce to get the free basketball meals
- Brownlee sinking a halftime buzzer beater and getting so jacked that he accidentally ran into the Michigan State locker room

There are many others. The 2nd part of the interview is getting released tomorrow, but this one has most of the good stories from his Iowa playing days. Check it out.

EDIT: Here is the link to the 2nd part of the interview for those interested: https://www.moonlightgrahamshow.com...asketball-is-different-with-your-best-friends

Brownlee's perspective on Horner's perfectionism and leadership qualities is interesting in this part. Also, Brownlee talks about the origin of the nickname "Gerber Baby" for John Lickliter and gets a little frustrated when he hears that some people have compared him to Lickliter, which is funny.

I don't have the answer for you, man. It has been going on for a lot of years.
- Short guys want to be taller
- Tall guys want to be shorter
- Garnett never wanted to be listed at 7' even though he was
- Duncan didn't want to be listed as a C
- Durant wants to be listed at 6'9 even though he is closer to 7'
It happens

Remember when was at T'Wolves game his 2nd year, the MN Roster in program had Garnett listed as 6'12"

Brownlee says he was only 5'11" even though he was listed as being 6'1"

isn't that illegal?.... would anybody else do this?

Why would it be illegal?
A lot of height and weights are fudged in sports, especially high school and college. The Garnett one is good because that's one of the few wanting to be smaller, but most guys want to be listed as bigger than they really are. You never really find that out until they go to a combine or draft workout what they really are.

it might not be against man's law... but it is against God's Law.

Exodus 20:16
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

I just think..... why not tell the truth?.... what's wrong with being honest?

I listened to the second part of this interview last night and laughed out loud when Brownlee called John Lickliter "Gerber Baby". Thank God we have guards like JBo now and we don't have to watch that anymore...

Just part of the game. What guy doesn't want to be taller? Besides Shawn Bradley

After watching the Maryland game tonight and see our youth come out once again it made me miss the days of veteran teams when we had Horner, Brunner, Haluska, Reiner, etc.

Remember when there was only one senior? Brownlee was it in '05. That's what it makes me think of- future is bright.
