Trump says he’d ‘fire’ special counsel Jack Smith in ‘two seconds’ if elected again

He's 100% guilty of actual crimes, found by a jury of peers. That is legit.
The entire jury was against him. It was all a setup. Even the guy that admitted that he got all his news from Truth Social was against Trump. Even Trump's lawyers that helped select the jury were against Trump. Trump is the victim, always.

Cool, so if I get arrested for a DUI, all I need to do is get elected to an office high enough to fire the cop? How is this okay?

It's more like, if you are the President of the U.S., and you know there is a corrupt prosecutor that you can fire, what do you do?

I doubt he’s afraid but that’s irrelevant. they are 100% lawfare and bogus ass cases that should never have been brought so firing the counsel makes sense and is legit.

This sort of detached from reality faith based justification is how events like 1/6 happens. People vulnerable to manipulation believe something to be true not based on evidence or logic, but purely on the faith that it's true. The election was stolen, people need to do something, storm the Capitol and stop the certification. It's easy to cast them all as morons, but they were really making a fairly rationale choice given what they understood to be reality.

Similar with this person. He has a faith based belief that the cases against Trump are 100% lawfare and bogus ass cases. If you actually believed that to be true. The rationale and prudent thing to do is end the prosecution and fire the prosecutor. However, the reality is that we have a system, with laws and procedures, we have judges, evidence gets presented.

Unfortunately, an ecosystem where reality can be rejected and substituted with someone's own faith based version has taken over with Trump's takeover of the Republican party and what we used to think of as 'conservatism' replaced by the MAGA movement.

I guess if I was innocent, I'd rather have my day in court to prove it, rather than cast doubt that I pardoned myself.

But let's be real, we all know that Trump isn't innocent. He'll never say it, but one of the big reasons he's running for office again is to not only get rid of all the charges against him, but to punish those that brought them. Actually, you know what? He pretty much has said all of those things.

Explain yourself without hurling insults.
Trump is saying he'd fire someone investigating him for committing a felony. Biden's son was convicted of three felonies. You're saying that you're absolutely fine with a President firing the individuals prosecuting those felonies. Then you come back and say the line that you won't cross is "the law," which is absolute nonsense given the prior statements.

I never said I was "absolutely fine with a President firing the individuals prosecuting those felonies."

At the end of the day, if the law is followed, it doesn't really matter whether I'm fine with it or not.

The law allows for Biden to commute and/or pardon Hunter.

The law allows for a AG to dismiss a special prosecutor.

In both scenarios, legal acts, hence my reference to "The line is the law".

Well at least that makes logical sense now. I still strongly disagree with you, but at least your position makes sense.

Trump was asked what he would chose between firing Smith or pardoning himself. No matter which answer he gave this article would be here! Lol

And, yet he's said he wouldn't. You live in a fact free bubble of emotions and feels.

I don't care what Biden has said. Politicians say one thing and do another all the time.

Would you care to wager on whether Biden or Harris (she's an extension of Biden and the optics would look better) will commute or pardon Hunter?

3 month departure from HROT?

Deal?

We all know that if Trump was guilty, we would have had a real trial and court.

Weird. You discount what Biden says, and aren’t bothered by what Trump says he will do.

I'll take that as a "no" on the wager.
Why would you be so fragile as to offer that wager? Tired of me paddling your fanny red here? And, unlike you, I have a life outside of politics here. Hawkeye sports. Cubs. Popular culture… 99.99 percent of your posts are political. It’s weird for a Hawkeye board. No posts about a loving family or rewarding friendships. No hobbies. Do you honestly think anyone would believe you if you took up that bet?

You're a blowhard Lucas and the above post solidifies that.
