Let’s use this thread for updates on Iowa’s rooting interests heading into the weekend.
BIG:
Iowa (12-9) at Maryland
Mich at Neb (13-8)
Illinois (13-8) at MSU
Minn (13-8) at NW
Rutger at Indiana (14-7)
Root for an Iowa sweep to get into a 3rd place tie. If Indiana wants to implode and cause a tie for second, that’s even better! I don’t care about tiebreakers as much as Iowa needs to finish top 3.
Other Bubble Teams: Root against everyone in Bold
Connecticut (31) at Tulane (86)
Tennessee (10) vs Ole Miss (29)
Clemson (38) vs Wake Forest (58)
Virginia (45) at Va Tech (62)
San Diego State (56) vs New Mexico (182)
Arizona (55) at Penn State (176), at Wash St (202)
Oklahoma (44) at Texas (54)
Washington (65) at UCLA (2), vs Cal (35)
Louisiana Tech (53) at FIU (168)
Gonzaga (78) at Loyola-Marymount (82)
Florida State (57) at Louisville (7)
Duke (49) at Miami (16)
Liberty (50) at FGCU (124)
Florida (33) at Mizzou (15)
Central Florida (43) vs Houston (39)
UC Irvine (52) vs UC Davis (229), vs USC midweek (84), at UC Riverside (221)
Clemson/Wake Forest is the only head to head matchup of bubble teams. Losing the series likely knocks WF out. Tennessee on the bubble at 10 (12-15 SEC). Washington, Florida State, Duke, and Florida could really make a statement yet. Texas could play its way on to the bubble but they'll likely finish last in the Big 12. I'm torn on UC Irvine. It would be great to tote them as a top 50 series win but they will likely stay out of the top 50 given their schedule. If it gets to a point where Iowa and UCI are both in the bubble conversation, I'd rather be the team that won the series head to head.
