Yes!
These need to be an alt uni every single year.
I also wouldn't mind seeing the OSU jerseys coming back some time in the near future, but doubt it. Here's how I'd rank the alt uniforms we've done and I apologize if I miss any.
2010 unis vs Ball State....best representation of the uniforms Iowa wore during one of their most successful periods for foot in school history
2017 unis vs OSU....I think this is what the kids these days call "swag"......oh and 55-24 wasn't bad either.
2004 unis vs Kent State....we were one of the first to do the whole throwback game concept. They are definitely not our worst uniform since 2000. Not even close.
2015 unis vs Minnesota....I liked them for what they were. Certainly a break from the norm and gave the fans what a lot of them had been wanting with the all black unis.
2012 unis vs Iowa State....big drop off here. The effort and concept was nice. A uniform to commemorate two of the most decorated teams in Iowa football history......the final product just came off a little bland......much like our effort in that game.
2012 unis vs Purdue....f***ing terrible and should've easily been the one picked in the story above, but I can see how it might've been missed. I, myself, have done everything I can to forget that that season ever happened.
As far as our regular uniforms go, there's been several slight alterations through the years, but the biggest change ended being one of the best at the right time.
If the OP linked story had just done regular uniforms then ours from 2000-2001 would fit the bill. They were very much a low-budget product of the times. I believe Addidas was the sponsor. The white lettering on the back was a carryover from the end of the Hayden era.
In 2002 we went back to the traditional uni design we had when Fry first arrived and we've kept it since. I'd say it worked out pretty well for us that year as well.
