Iowa -12.5 against NW

None of this matters one bit to the coaches and team. All they need focus on is the next game in front of them and everything else takes care of itself. Betting lines are for gamblers and football games are for football players and their fans.

I doubt that is true. Got stats backing that up?

If I gambled, this seems like a great candidate to take the under, wait for the spread to drop to -9.5, then get in on the other side of the action.

I believe I read that KF has lost 17 games at Iowa when at least a 9.5 point favorite. Pretty impressive stuff.

NW is 125th in the country in points per game at 16.3.

If you think its so easy, bet the house on NW.

don't forget the idea of a line is to get some action on both sides. NW is 1-3, lost to Illinois state and western mich. iowa has climbed as high as 13 this year, is coming off a 12 win season, and is 3-1. You have to make it a pretty big number to get anyone laying on NW.

I'd probably like Iowa at anything less than 10. But having seen too many games in this series, Its probably smartest to just stay away from this one!

I gamble, but this didn't make sense to me, unless you meant underDOG ? Take 12.5 and buy the Hawks back at 9.5 I guess. Not sure that line will move that much though.

My impression of NW is they aren't very good, but then I'm still sorting out what kind of team Iowa has...

Iowa will cover by at least 14, and whatever the O/U is take the under. Might be including this as part of my locks, which I release Saturday morning. Stay tuned

Lost 17 times as a 9.5 point favorite or more? You mean lost outright? Not just didn't cover?
I wonder how many times they have failed to cover, then, as a 9.5 point or more favorite.

sheeeeesh.. Hopefully vegas is right however this falls in that danger zone of games Kirk loses more often than not..

Iowa will destroy NW. 300 yds rushing. Nebby should have scored on every possession.
NW has been awful all season. This board is manic. 38-10

Just a guess, but probably covered about the same amount of times they didn't. It how it works, right?

Hmm, we're a bigger favorite than Nebraska was.

Simply because Vegas saw us essentially beat them 38-13. We showed Vegas that Northwestern isn't very good. Prior to our game, the jury was still somewhat out.

Have not seen NW play this year. Looking at stats, they are not good at anything and bad at a lot of things

I think their losses to Western Michigan and Illinois State(!!!!) showed us a lot more than a 24-13 loss to Nebraska.

Iowa will win this weekend by two TDs. The season starts now. I have to believe the coaching staff has looked at the schedule knowing that the training wheels have to come off right now. the rest of the season is where the real heavy lifting has to happen.

They won 24-13. Stop doing the old Nebraska coulda, shoulda, woulda. After seeing Oregon the last couple of weeks (note: its not 2010 or 2014) and the anything but domination at Northwestern (556 total yards, win the turnover battle and punt once and win by 11?) I would say the jury is somewhat out on Nebraska.

nw does have a good back and the qb is an above average runner. Stopping the run has clearly been a problem for the Iowa D this year. That alone could keep nw close, if the Iowa offense continues to sputter as they have done for 2 consecutive showings.

How anyone can look at Iowa's play to date and feel confident that they'll kick butt is beyond me. From what I've seen, our offense cannot move the ball with any sense of consistency. We just struggled to put up points against two consecutive teams that had averaged giving up 30+ per game.

They may clean things up, but I see zero reason to be confident.

NW and the points all day....EASY MONEY

These are my favorite posts. I like the fact that people will come out early and say what the easy picks are. We all know far too many "gamblers" come on this site after a game is played and say something was easy money. It's amazing how Vegas stays in business with so many brilliant gamblers out there.

So how much are you putting on this game? Easy money, so I would assume at least a grand or something like that. Right?
