Iowa #25 AP // ISU #24

We’ve had five one possession games. We went 2-3 in them. Really wish we could have gone 3-2. Or you could say we had three down to the wire games and only won one of them. Again, 7-2 would be so much better than 6-3. Oh well.
yeah. For sure one more win would be really nice. We'd still have a realistic chance to win our division if only had 2 losses right now. Yep. Oh well

Wisky is the conference's only chance at a CFP spot. Are the ref's gonna hand them the game? If Iowa knocks off Wisky, we're talking millions for the conference.

This is so sad yet it's something to lookout for. Seems like we see this far too often in sports - a hose job.

OH AND HOW IN THE HELL IS WVU ranked above us?
They don't have a single win that is better than our top wins....
The Sister-Kissers have been ranked off-and-on earlier this season, the Hawks have not. That's probably the only reason. Familiarity.

Yeah im not understanding that myself. ISU has given 2 top 10 teams their only loss. On paper both those wins look better than our win over tOSU. Now on the other hand 3 loss West Virginia whose best win is ISU being ranked over Iowa is a travesty.
Ya rankings dont seem consistent. Dont see why iowa is ranked higher, and also why osu didnt drop more after their 2nd blowout loss.

Osu dropped 8 spots getting blown out by #25 iowa, while isu dropped 10 spots in a 4 pt game to #23 wvu.

Wisconsin at #6. Another great opportunity for Iowa in Madison on Saturday which, I presume, will air at 2:30 on ABC.

I was dead wrong about the OSU game. I figured it would be something like 55-24, but with the Hawkeyes on the wrong end of it.

But then Iowa finally unleashed the offense so many of us have been calling for, including even a brilliant trick play, and gee, they got different results. Funny how that happens, even against OSU, after floundering against far lesser opposition.

Once again the Hawkeyes have an opportunity, not just for the rest of this year, but for years to come. But it all hinges on maintaining the kind of play calling we saw yesterday. The ingredients are there, and now everybody knows it.

Give KF and the whole staff credit. But they have to remember how this happened: imaginative, unpredictable offense; passing to open the run; and a little trickeration. It was fun for everyone--but the Buckeyes. Keep that approach and Iowa could be on the road to consistent, serious national ranking that will leave Wisconsin, Northwestern, Michigan State and the rest of the league jealous.

Ya, caution they spent alot of energy in the tOSU game, and should be concerned going into wisconsin.

Similar to energy spent in PSU game, and the follow up loss to NW the next week.

Dont want to diminish tOSU win, but came after tOSU spent alot of energy against PSU week before.

Not a very overly emotional game imo. While it's always possible for a team to come out flat, this win seems more like a momentum and confidence builder than an "energy drainer."

In fact, while many believe that the Michigan State loss was "Penn State beating us twice," I think that our demolition of OSU may have the opposite effect

Ya, dont disagree, but yet is challenging to perform at a very high level back to back.

Uh, yeah, I am serious. I saw them need a lucky ass last second play to win. Did you not see it? Or do you just review stat sheets?

I think the 6 minutes 37 seconds that Iowa led in the PSU game clearly show how even the game was.

It would be great to see them both finished ranked. If so both should be in the pre-season top 25 next year, they both have a lot of players returning next season and it really should be great seasons for both teams. If Park isn't coming back finding a QB would be the only negative for the Cyclones, which can be big. Iowa of course needs to replace the linebackers but there are a lot of good players on each squad after that.

Yeah, cause that matters. How many teams haven't held a lead until the final minute of a game? Seriously, track that stat down for me slappy.

You know what matters? Final score. PSU had it, Iowa didn't. So you can pontificate all you want but when the great score keeper looks at that game PSU led most of the game and most importantly led when time ran out. Not much else to say 'slappy' nice work breaking that name out, it really helps prove your point.

Heck of a game by Iowa on Saturday. Almost everybody on this board would have said both teams would be pushing it to make a bowl a few weeks ago. Now we're both eligible and have a lot left to play for, and it's exciting.
