Here is the challenge. Pick Iowa basketball’s all time starting 5, but there are a couple rules.

1. You can only use one player per decade. If someone played in 2 decades you can declare which decade you are claiming for that player
2. Has to be based on how they played in college
3. players must fit and play assigned positions.

Here is mine:
Ronnie Lester (1970s)
Adam Haluska (2000s)
Roy Marble (1980s)
Chris Street (1990s)
Luka Garza (2010s)

Love your teams but the rules said you can't have 2 from the same decade. That's what makes it harder.

Ronnie is absolutely in. The question is, do you tag him 70s or 80s? Either way you knock out somebody who belongs in...which f***s up the whole thing.

I realize he played in the 50's but no list of Hawkeye greats is complete without the great Carl Cain -- he led Iowa to two final fours including one championship game (unfortunately had the bad luck to play both games against Bill Russell and the Dons of San Francisco) and two Big Ten Championships. Made the 1956 Gold Medal Winning US Olympic Team. First team All-American in '56, First Team All-Big Ten in '54 and '56.

If you include Carl then do you need to go back to the '40's and pick Dick Ives?

Very solid list, BlackNGold ! Including Kevin Gamble is warranted, imho. He had a nice little career w Celtics, too. However----- I'd say Reggie Evans need to switch w Adam Haluska. Reggie might have longest NBA career of anyone on these 3 teams.

That's the challenge of covering every decade on one team.
