need to band together and be loud for both teams in that arena. Might offset some of Gonzaga's home court advantage, and make it a big advantage for UNI. Not in the same bracket, so join together and root for the state of Iowa basketball!!

Would have been a great marketing idea to see both schools get reversible shirts. One side for UNI and one side for IOWA. Or just two shirts. Anything to put on the othe schools colors when they play.

I know of two Hawk fans who live in the Seattle area that didn't pay up for last night hoping to buy disgruntled Davidson fans tix for tomorrow. Hope many more try that tack too.

I would caution overestimating the Gonzaga fans at Key Arena. Spokane is about as close to Seattle as Omaha is to Iowa City and Gonzaga is also a small private school with limited statewide appeal, probably akin to the number of non-Catholic Notre Dame fans in. Places like Indianapolis. They exist, but nothing like the number of IU or PU fans.

There is also a huge cultural and political divide in Washington State that may lead more GU alums to places like Boise or Missoula if not staying in Eastern Washington if their choice of university is any indication of life choice. UI, on the other hand, is a national institution with tons of alums all over the Pacific Northwest {Seattle, Portland, etc} and so they'll be well represented.

Can't they just wear yellow....

Yellow is only a complimentary color for UNI. I've never seen them wear a uniform where yellow is the featured color.

We are here and we are full boat on the GREAT State of Iowa. Roar Panthers and Go Hawks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup... Tell it like it is!!!

It will definitely be a hometown environment for the Zags, but not as much as you might think. Gonzaga does have passionate fans, but there are also a lot of Washington and Washington State fans that don't like Gonzaga that will be at arena. I'll be there rooting on Hawks and Panthers. good luck!

I was in the arena last night ... The zags fans are obnoxious and everywhere ... It will clearly be a gonzaga crowd tomorrow but there will be a loud opposition ...

Gonzaga is a cocky team ... Take a look at the first 17 seconds of wiltjer's interview and when he references Aaron White he says, "dunks? that's his greatest feat" and then looks at his team mate and they do a smug chuckle ... That tells you everything you need to know about gonzaga ... they are arrogant and accomplished ... They remind me of Russell and Ohio State in that regard ... The two positions that worry me are point guard and center ... pango is a steve nash type player, super fast and under control with a really high motor ... Their centers are huge and well coached, good footwork and nice touch around the basket ...

If our best team shows up and theirs too, I say its an Iowa victory ...
