Iowa City-Coralville ECHL hockey team name is...

Are the people who own this team the same people that designed the first Iowa-Nebraska Heroes trophy?

Edit: I didn't realize the rose was a secondary emblem. I actually think that will work on the shoulder patch pretty well. The name is still lame though.

You thinking of the iowa vs isu debacle?

So it's a deer logo, a flower logo, and the Heartlanders? Must be brought to you by the same brain trust that put a cardinal as a logo for a tornado and called it cyclones.

The name is lame, yes, BUT...in their defense, it was the only name that could pass through the "Is Anyone Going to Be Offended" evaluation gauntlet. Well, either Heartlanders or Coralville Hockey Team.

Banana Slugs would have been better.

The Iowa equivalent could have been the Iowa Corn Smut
Just think of the logos they could have come up with for that....

remember this.....yikes

At this point—this thing has such a great story behind it, I wish they’d bring it back. It’s so bad, it’s good. The new one wasn’t much of an improvement. Herky and Cy holding a giant football? Lame.

I love all the Twitter idiots posting deer logos and saying it looks the same.

Yes, they’re both deer. No, they don’t look anything alike graphically.

Sports Illustrated names both the Quad City Storm and Iowa Heartlanders in the top ten junior/minor league hockey logos. Not sure either deserves it as the Storm are a rip off of the old Muskegon Fury and the Heartlanders is generic...

Neither is even the best one in Iowa, IMHO. That goes to the Effigy Mounds inspired logo of the Waterloo Black Hawks:

EDIT: Tagging @torbee on this one.
