DES MOINES, Iowa —
The Iowa Senate passed a bill Monday afternoon that would require high school students to pass a naturalization test in order to graduate and receive their diploma.

Lulz. Get ready to listen to all the numpties everywhere say "Good!" that would fail miserably if they took it. If there's one thing I've learned about republigimps recently is they sure don't respect or know America's history, structure, rule of law, governance, and our constitution.

As I said in the other thread, I'm all for this if the Iowa Senators also had to take the test to serve. It would get rid of at least half of the MAGA assholes in the statehouse.

You pin them down and tell them to take it cold. No way that passing percentage gets to half. There'd be a whole lot of "c is the most common answer" attempts on those scantron sheets.

It passed the Senate. It will require making it through all three branches of government, the Senate, the General Assembly, and the Governor.

We should wait and see what the next leadership wants to do since Kimmy is out. We know that won't happen. They'll slam as much shit through as they can because they are scumbags supported by scumbags

Any attempts to help students appreciate America, as opposed to teaching them to hate America, should be welcomed by all.

Also what's the difference between this one and House File 165 from the article? Seems duplicate

You forgot the Farm Bureau and Dutch Reformed Church. They get approval rights, too.

A “graduation requirement test” is a little late to be insuring student they have been given a first class education. Especially after having stolen public tax $$ from them to aid their “private sector educated” brothers and sisters…. Cuts that gave been shown to directly affect the quality of the education many of the public school students were receiving.

Send it to the states, somw states are going to raise the standards, some will fall behind.

Even your dumbass could probably eek out the 60% after a few tries

"Students should not have to pass an immigration test to graduate as these exams rely on rote memorization with minimal critical thinking," Staed said.
