Anthony Nelson showed some flashes. Otherwise, not really dominant stopping run and not much pass rush. Mabin needs to step up, because he will need to cover for an extra 1-banana.
Think I only saw a couple blitzes tosay. It was sad that we couldnt get pressure with just our front 4. Anthony Nelson is going to be a good one. Nothing from Johnson or Faith today. Didnt help Jewell got the boot early on. Hockaday looked bad and Im still not sure how Bower is a starter. DL occupies blocks to get LB run free. Not very good today....

On the flip side, Iowa's top starting DE, Hesse, clearly has been nicked up. He didn't play much in the game.
Furthermore, the MIKE LB makes the adjustments to the front 7 on D ... including making sure that the DL is set up correctly given what he reads. Missing Jewell impacts a lot more than just LB play.

Agree but Jewell would not make a difference when Miami OLine pushes D line back 3 + yards on almost every play.. That was a very young line for Miami.
