Another dual which Iowa will dominate. That being said, the Terps have some bonafide studs that will test our hawks.
125- Weak weight by the terps. Lots of untested freshman who will be fodder for Gillman.
133- Maryland has Geoffrey Alexander a nationally ranked Sr. Alexander is a 3 time NCAA qualifier and was a 3 time PA state place. He won the Super 32 in HS. Clark is a beast, but Alexander can keep it close.
141- The terps likely go with reshirt Frosh Alfred Bannister. Bannister was a highly regarded recruit out of MD. He won 272 matches in HS and had over 200 wins by fall. He was a 4 X MD state champ. He won the Beast of East Tournament pinning Blair Academy's Mason Manville in the finals. He had a great redshirt year winning 37 matches. Bannister is a top 20 ranked wrestler this year and Ryan will have to be at his best as he looks for the upset. The terps have great depth here with 2X PA state champ Billy Rappo and Jr Shyheim Brown ( 3 X PA state placer). Brown is an NCAA qualifier. It's possible one these guys bumps to 149.
149- Sr Shane Arechiga could get the start for the Terps here. Shane is MD state champ (HS teammate of Kyle Snyder). Arechiga won a MD state title. Sorensen should have no problems here.
157- Senior Louis Mascola ( (NJ State Champ) is familiar to most Hawk fans. He beat Mike Kelly last year and qualified for the NCAA tourney. He won a couple matches upsetting SD St Cody Pack. We're going to have our hands full as Mascola is tough. Alexander's younger bro Sophmore Justin (PA state placer) backs up Mascola.
165- Jr Tyler Manion likely gets the start for Maryland here. Manion is a two time PA state placer. Look for Rhodes or Paddock to put it on him. His career record is 23-28.
174- Maryland goes with Sr Josh Snook out of Delaware (HS teammate of big Bobby T). Placed 4th at the Midlands tournament last year and had a couple notable wins. Beat Michigan St's Nick Proctor and Wisconsin's Franks Cousins. Alex Meyer wins big.
184- Ther Terps will look to Sr Mark Colabucci ( 2X MD state champ) Colabucci transferred from West Virginia. Pretty weak competition for Brooks here. Maybe the Brands throw a backup a bone.
197- Redshirt Freshman Garrett Wesneski (2 X PA state placer) is the likely starter here. Wesneski won over 20 matches in his redshirt season but Burak puts it on him here.
HWT- The Terps have had some HWT success over the years with McCoy as there Head Coach that shouldn't be a surprise. They have several Big Man options. PA state runner-up Dawson Peck is a talented heavy who's transferred twice in college already. He went from VT to UTC and now is at Maryland. Last year he went 14-3 wrestling unattached. Backing him up the Terps also have 2X MD state champ So. Sean Twigg (who's anything but). 28-26 record in college thus far. Peck will give Stoll a tough match here.
