Agree they should have or shouldn’t have gotten that high of a grade? I think it’s too high obviously with the talent they had returning… this past season brings a bad taste to my mouth. What I do like is everyone is going to predict Iowa in the bottom half of the BIG next season but this is when Iowa usually shines and comes up big. I will take a 2015 type season thank you, thank you very much.

A grade of B is generous. 8-5 "sounds" ok, but they didn't beat anyone that was all that good. Minnesota at #39 was the highest ranked team they beat (CBS Sports), and they lost to #70 UCLA and #79 Michigan St. Hawks finished at #35.

Defense was disappointing. QB play was awful. KJ and special teams were the lone bright spots.

Agree.

No quality wins and a couple of bad losses.

That equals C

B from who lol Mary ... that team was awful vs a garbage schedule. O was an embarrassing as usual , the D soft, weak, small and worst tackling team in America. A D is the better grade. But oh my wait until next year's mess. That team already gets a F !

C (at best) for their ferentzing games against ISU, UCLA and MSU. Their soft defense didn't do them any favors. We all knew this offense wasn't going to get fixed in a year. I'm surprised it did as well as it did.

A good summary. I give the team a B minus, barely over average. I thought 1 loss against OSU, and ISU would be a close win that turned into that last second dagger loss. I thought UCLA would be a tough game early but they were an average to below avg team with no run game that ran all over our defense.

The defense didnt have that really good cornerback play we are used to as we saw very good, young receivers just eat us alive. And of course, less of a pass rush and QB pressure than was expected put pressure on the back end and in order to generate that pass rush, like they thought was needed against UCLA, just made the front 7 more exposed against the run game. It is all interconnected and it hurt this year.

And no consistency in the passing game really hurt when trying to get important first downs. The offense showed improvement but the passing game has a long way to go especially in getting those key passes for first downs and more big chunk plays.

Bad enough to beat your Huskers.

You act like that's something to be proud of given the easy ass schedule. If iowa goes 8-5 next year, yes, then 8-5 will be something to celebrate.
What about my post is celebratory?

It's the final season analysis.

And no, 8-5 next season won't be very celebratory either

8 wins out of 13 is 61.54% so that a D. Maybe a little low but with what was coming back on both sides of the ball, very disappointing season.
That kind of percentage doesn't work. It's like saying every baseball player deserves an F based on batting average. Ohio State finished 14-2, which would only earn a B+ based on traditional grade percentage.

I think a B-/C+ is reasonable for the 2024 Hawks.

Seems a little high…especially since they flunked their Final Exam. Given their schedule I’d say C+. 😎
